SiLA 2 Hackathon at Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung Accelerating Materials Research Together Last Thursday, #Adlershof became a hub for innovation and collaboration as we hosted the SiLA 2 Hackathon at BAM. Together with Patrick Courtney (SiLA Consortium) and Stefan Maak (Uppsala University), we explored how standards like SiLA 2 can empower Material Acceleration Platforms and Self-Driving Labs. From critical discussions to intensive hands-on coding, the day was packed with learning-by-doing. Stefan brought along modular kits that simulated automated lab setups 🤖 perfect for group work and experimentation. In the breaks we used the chance to offer lab tours to MAPs@BAM around the corner. We were especially proud to welcome our interns from the #AuricherWissenschaftstage, a strong signal that the future of STEM is in good hands. 👏 The event also marked the first meeting between BAMfred and GoodSiLA, with both looking ahead to what might come next. Thank you to all participants for your energy, ideas, and feedback. The success of this event has set the stage for future hackathons. We’re already looking forward to the follow up!
