A few weeks after the Life Sciences Conference, one takeaway from our Agentic AI session continues to resonate in conversations across the industry: Adoption is no longer the challenge, impact is. We’ve reached a point where many companies are experimenting with GenAI and agentic tools, but too few are seeing measurable business outcomes. The real value is coming from those who are moving beyond experimentation to reimagine how work gets done, aiming not for 3% improvements, but for 30–50% step changes in performance. What stood out in the discussion during our conference was how quickly the conversation shifts when teams are given bold targets and the space to challenge legacy ways of working. We heard compelling examples from companies who are using agents to speed up regulatory processes, streamline field insights, and unlock supply chain efficiencies -- not in theory, but in practice. Another critical theme: building AI fluency across the enterprise. That doesn’t mean everyone becomes a developer -- it means people across roles understand what AI can do and how to lead change with it. For many, that’s where the real scaling begins. This is still a learning journey for the industry. As BCG’s Global People Chair, I can’t help but be excited about the incredible progress our teams at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) are making with AI. Nearly 90% of BCGers are now using AI in their work, with half using it habitually. AI is no longer a “nice-to-have” in the workplace, but a core part of how we learn, work, and grow.   In a recent interview with Lakshmi Varanasi at Business Insider, I shared how AI is raising the bar on quality and efficiency, and how the real differentiator remains our people - the judgment, creativity, and insight BCGers bring to every client challenge.   What excites me most is how our people are using AI to reinvest time into higher value activities, from sharper analysis to clearer storytelling. One of the best examples is in performance reviews: our AI tools have cut writing time by 40% and improved quality by 20%, freeing up leaders to focus on coaching and growth. And with BCGers having built more than 32,000 custom GPTs, the most of any OpenAI customer, innovation is now flowing from every corner of the firm.   I’m proud of the progress we’ve made so far with this powerful technology and excited for what’s next.
