Over 50 commanders and senior staff officers shared and increased their knowledge of operational planning and ability to lead within the #NATO Command Structure and NATO Force Structure. Exercises STEADFAST PYRAMID and STEADFAST PINNACLE 2025, held at the Joint Headquarters of the Latvian National Armed Forces in Riga, concluded. 📣“The Alliance needs commanders who are proficient in knowledge of the NATO “Family of Plans” for deterrence and defence, and skilled in utilising both the Operational Planning Process and operational art. Today, such leaders are required more than ever,” said Major General Bogdan Rycerski, NATO Joint Force Training Centre's Commander and Officer Directing the Exercise. “Exercises STEADFAST PYRAMID and PINNACLE, focused on the commander’s perspective and interactions with Operational Forces and Allied higher headquarters, are a perfect response to this requirement,” the General added. The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) is doubling down on its mission to strengthen Europe’s Defence, Security & Resilience (DSR) ecosystem. 🌍 Backed by 24 NATO Allies and €1B+, the NIF announced on 29 September 2025 important updates to grow the Alliance's industrialisation gap and accelerate the pace at which breakthrough technologies are deployed to meet NATO’s most pressing strategic needs. Key updates: 🔹Professor Dame Fiona Murray appointed Chairman of the Board, with Karl-Christian Agerup as Vice Chairman. 🔹Launch of a new Advisory Council, chaired by Dr. Klaus Hommels, which brings together senior military, business, and policy leaders from across the Alliance. A DTRA Building Partner Capacity team traveled to Romania to launch the inaugural Capability Enhancement Workshop of the International Counterproliferation Program (ICP)! This workshop marks the beginning of the new Regional Arms Control Verification Implementation and Assistance Centre (RACVIAC)/DTRA Regional Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Counterproliferation Training Initiative. We'll be working to identify regional capability gaps and training needs to help RACVIAC member states better counter the illegal proliferation of WMDs, dual-use items, and related precursors. This initiative will promote a deliberate annual planning process, ensuring future training opportunities are synchronized with RACVIAC's annual planning cycle. 🌊 After successfully taking part in NATO’s REPMUS 2025 exercise, DriX O-16 returned home after completing a journey of more than 3,200 nautical miles (back and forth and during exercise), including a new crossing of the Gibraltar Strait. Once again, it proved that autonomy at sea is not a vision, it’s a reality. Endurance, reliability, and quality of data collected remain at the core of what makes DriX one of the most advanced and trusted USVs operating today. Next week, DriX O-16 will be back in action for our Open House in La Ciotat, where we’ll welcome over 60 clients from around the world and share the latest mission results and data insights. As recent REPMUS exercises have shown, USVs are now essential force multipliers, enabling navies and hydrographic agencies to extend their reach, resilience, and data collection capacity — safely and efficiently.
