🌏 What does climate collaboration look like? 🤝 Through the International Climate Initiative, Germany has been a longstanding partner in advancing #ClimateAction and #BiodiversityConservation in India. Guided by global frameworks, the 2️⃣7️⃣ IKI-supported projects in India are working to reduce emissions, build climate resilience, protect carbon sinks, and safeguard ecosystems across diverse landscapes. To strengthen collaboration and enhance synergies across this growing portfolio, we joined hands with TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute and co-hosted the 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐊𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞. The platform brought together a dynamic community of climate and biodiversity practitioners, creating space to reflect on collective progress, share insights, and identify new opportunities for deeper, more coordinated action. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 📢 New IKI Funding Framework: #IKI has updated its funding approach with a new Large Grants programme, replacing previous funding calls. This shift aims to support bilateral, regional, and global projects with budgets ranging from 5 to 20 million EUR. The first call under this new framework will be launched at the COP30 in #Brazil. 📕 The 2025 National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) Yearbook is out now. Check out a snapshot of resilience in action 👇 National Adaptation Plans are more than just policy documents - they are blueprints for building climate resilience. It is vital that we accelerate the development and implementation of NAPs worldwide.   That’s why country representatives, support agencies and donors are gathering this week in Lusaka, Zambia, for #NAPExpo2025.   Since 2013, UNDP has worked hand-in-hand with over 50 countries to design and deliver these plans, helping governments translate climate priorities into action. To date, 38 developing countries - including 21 Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States - have submitted their NAPs to the UNFCCC with the support of the UNDP.   This progress has been possible thanks to long-time partners and donors - including the Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility, Germany’s International Climate Initiative and others - committed to advancing climate resilience. #New_Article_On_L&D We set out with a simple yet pressing idea: to generate evidence and reference materials on Loss and Damage (L&D)—both economic and non-economic—that are still largely absent in climate literature and practice. Our approach was to identify hazard-specific L&D and their combined impacts on communities, while also exploring how these can be meaningfully connected to policy processes. Now, I’m glad to share that our collective efforts have taken shape and are published in npj Climate Action Journal. This work is now available online as a resource for readers, researchers, and policymakers working in the climate space.
