Wealth management is a growing industry – but can ‘Swiss-made’ retain its competitive edge in the face of competition from new market entrants? We were pleased to attend Finanz und Wirtschaft’s 2025 Forum in Zurich this week, to take a look at the unique strengths of the Swiss finance industry, and explore how the sector can maintain its world-leading status. Joining leading voices from across the industry, Hubert Keller, Lombard Odier’s Senior Managing Partner, in the opening keynote showcased that the Swiss wealth management sector is facing pressure on a number of fronts, including from new digital-only competitors and tighter margins. In response, he said, Swiss wealth managers must embrace digital innovation and offer product differentiation. ⚠️ Swiss Federal Council to introduce a corporate due diligence legislative proposal by March 2026 ⚠️ Following the intense and successful campaign led by Coalition pour des multinationales responsables, the Swiss Federal Council, while dismissing the coalition proposal, committed to introduce a indirect counter-project for a corporate due diligence legislative proposal by March 2026. 🇨🇭 The Federal Council, in an official statement, reminded that all Swiss companies must respect human rights and protect the environment. The concrete modalities of the application of this proposed law will be detailed once the Omnibus' provisions and direction will be clearer.
