Migrant Protection Platform

The one-stop-shop for practitioners and policymakers on migrant protection
Info
The Migrant Protection Platform (MPP) is a public knowledge management tool that intends to serve as a dedicated one-stop shop for a broad community of migrant protection policy makers and practitioners allowing them to connect with peers and engage in online dialogues; easily access hundreds of tools and resources needed to conduct their daily work; share good practices and lessons learnt. By following a harmonization process, the Migrant Protection Platform takes over formerly self-standing IOM portals on specialized protection areas and brings news, resources, learning opportunities and multimedia materials together in one single digital space. To support users in navigating the multiple opportunities provided by the Platform, materials are easily identifiable through the key thematic areas pertaining to migrant protection: Addressing Gender-based Violence, Child Protection, Community Engagement, Counter-Trafficking, and Return and Reintegration. The Platform follows the recent adoption of the IOM’s Approach to Protection and strengthens IOM's role as convenor and facilitator of dialogue among various stakeholders on protection-related matters. While contents have expanded, opportunities to engage with the Migrant Protection Platform will continue to mirror the same four key features of the former Platform: 💬 Community: A community of practice for policy makers and practitioners allowing for peer-to-peer discussions, accessible to registered members. 🖊️ Learning: A space to promote knowledge sharing and learning through its dedicated migrant protection webinars, proposed courses and training material. 📚 Resources: A repository providing access to hundreds of publications from IOM as well as published by other entities, combined with a space to access the latest data on migrant protection. 🎧 Media: A media section where to browse among video stories, podcasts and capacity development resources across the different specialized protection areas.
