We’re proud to share that Sani has been selected for the Climate Policy Specialization roster under the Article 6.4 Mechanism, following the Supervisory Body’s 18th meeting. This recognition by the UNFCCC Secretariat underscores Sani’s deep expertise in climate policy and market mechanisms, and reflects ORI’s continued contribution to advancing high-integrity, Article 6-aligned climate finance frameworks across emerging markets. Over the next two years, Sani will support the global community’s efforts to operationalize Article 6 and strengthen the integrity and transparency of international carbon cooperation. Uniting for conservation in Cameroon 🌿 The Dja Biosphere Reserve is one of Central Africa’s most species-rich ecosystems — and among the largest remaining rainforests in Africa. We’re partnering with ACDEF Cameroun and 13 communities to establish Community Conservation and Management Areas across 75,700 acres of the Reserve. These spaces will support new livelihoods while helping protect forests and at-risk wildlife such as western lowland gorillas and African forest elephants. 🌍 World Habitat Day | Rebuilding Ghana’s Natural Legacy Today we celebrated World Habitat Day and the global movement to restore the places that sustain us all. Through the Ghana Green Guard Initiative, we’re helping regenerate 12 million hectares of degraded land by replanting forests, restoring rivers, reviving coastlines, and creating new livelihoods across rural Ghana. A new United Nations report shows that if we do not raise ambition, 896 million women could lack access to clean cooking fuels and technologies by 2030! Three million people, mainly #women and girls, die every year as a result of the use of traditional fuels and stoves for cooking. Yet despite some recent increases in funding, global financing meets only 30% of the need. The same report indicates that USD 8 billion in annual investments would achieve universal access to #cleancooking fuels and technologies. This would simultaneously cut annual health costs, increase productivity due to time savings and reduce emissions, generating USD 192.3 billion by 2030 – 24 times the initial investment. We must work at speed and at scale to achieve universal access to clean cooking fuels and technologies by 2030. Le climat, ce n’est pas qu’une affaire d’experts. C’est l’affaire de tous. J’ai lancé une initiative digitale : About Climate, for All, dont le premier canal est TikTok. Ce projet, je le portais dans mon cœur depuis longtemps. Mais le doute, la peur de trop m’afficher, et parfois même une certaine honte me retenaient. De jour en jour, je réalisais à quel point il est urgent de parler du climat, de l’environnement, de l’agriculture, de la sécurité alimentaire et du développement durable, surtout en cette ère du changement climatique. Alors j’ai décidé de me jeter à l’eau. La particularité de ce projet ? Il sera multilingue : français, anglais, yoruba et fon, Il démarre sur TikTok, une plateforme où toutes les catégories sociales sont présentes (d’ailleurs, presque tout le monde dans mon village y est 😅), C’est aussi la plateforme où les jeunes sont les plus actifs, et je crois profondément qu’ils ont un rôle central à jouer dans la sensibilisation, l’innovation et l’action climatique. Et bien sûr, il s’adresse aux femmes, premières à souffrir des conséquences du changement climatique mais trop souvent absentes des sensibilisations climatiques. Ce que vous y trouverez : des vidéos claires et accessibles pour comprendre les enjeux climatiques, des techniques d’agriculture intelligentes face au climat, des innovations, initiatives et décisions politiques expliquées, et parfois des lives pour échanger directement. Mon but est simple : combler le vide entre la science, la technologie, la politique et les communautés. About Climate, for All n’est pas seulement un compte TikTok. C’est un projet que je souhaite élargir bien au-delà, pour que l’éducation climatique touche davantage de personnes, sous différentes formes. PS : Je ne savais pas que créer du contenu vidéo serait si compliqué 😅. Mais j’ai beaucoup appris avec ma première. Si des pros de CapCut sont là, je prends volontiers vos conseils.
