IT Accessibility Policy and Digital Product Review

The UC IT Accessibility Policy requires that Information Technolgy (IT) software and applications purchased or contracted from a 3rd-party must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA standards for accessibility.  In addition IT developed in-house at UC Berkeley, Office of the President, or from other UCs must also comply with the standards.

The Digital Accessibility team in Berkeley IT can help you with this process and compliance verification. Please fill out our intake form, so we can begin the process in supporting you.

All information technology vendors doing business with UC Berkeley should have an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) for their digital products.  An ACR is created when a supplier/vendor's experienced digital accessibility evaluator, or a qualified third-party accessibility auditing firm, fills out the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). Please note that the VPAT must be completed following all of the instructions listed on the template and it may be no older than a year old.
