- جرت انتخابات مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة 2020 يومي 17 و18 يونيو 2020 خلال الجلسة 74 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، التي عُقدت في مقر الأمم المتحدة في مدينة نيويورك. وتمحورت الانتخابات حول انتخاب أعضاء جُدد في خمسة مقاعد غير دائمة في مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة لمدة سنتين انطلاقا من 1 يناير 2021. وفقًا لقواعد التناوب في عُضوية مجلس الأمن، حيث يتم تناوب المقاعد العشرة غير الدائمة في مجلس الأمن بين مُختلف المجموعات الإقليمية التي تُقسم فيها الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة لأغراض التصويت والتمثيل، تم تخصيص المقاعد الخمسة الشاغرة على النحو التالي :
* مقعد واحد لأفريقيا.
* مقعد واحد لمجموعة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ.
* مقعد واحد لأمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي.
* مقعدين اثنين لمجموعة دول أوروبا الغربية ودول أخرى. (ar)
- The 2020 United Nations Security Council election was held on 17 and 18 June 2020 during the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held at United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The elections were for five non-permanent seats on the UN Security Council for two-year mandates commencing on 1 January 2021. In accordance with the Security Council's rotation rules, whereby the ten non-permanent UNSC seats rotate among the various regional blocs into which UN member states traditionally divide themselves for voting and representation purposes, the five available seats were allocated as follows:
* One for Africa
* One for the Asia-Pacific Group
* One for Latin America and the Caribbean
* Two for the Western European and Others Group In order of votes received, the countries elected were Mexico, India, Norway, and Ireland, with Kenya elected after a second round of voting the following day against Djibouti in a run off vote. These five members will serve on the Security Council for the 2021–22 period. The elections were held under special conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with ambassadors only allowed to enter the General Assembly Hall one-by-one to cast their ballots instead of the simultaneous voting that usually takes place. - Pemilihan Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa 2020 dilaksanakan pada 17 dan 18 Juni 2020 pada sidang Majelis Umum Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa ke-74. Pemilihan dilakukan untuk memilih lima anggota tidak tetap Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa untuk masa jabatan selama dua tahun sejak 1 Januari 2021. Merujuk pada aturan Dewan Keamanan, sepuluh anggota tidak tetap DK PBB digilir antara . Lima anggota yang dipilih tahun ini berasal dari:
* Satu dari Afrika
* Satu dari Asia- Group
* Satu dari dan Karibia
* Dua dari Eropa Barat dan Lainnya Berdasarkan urutan suara, Meksiko, India, Norwegia, dan Irlandia terpilih menjadi anggota tidak tetap Dewan Keamanan untuk periode 2021-2022. Pemilihan dilakukan dalam mekanisme khusus karena pandemi COVID-19. Duta besar hanya diperbolehkan masuk ke ruang Majelis Umum satu persatu untuk melakukan pemilihan. (in)
