He is best known for his work on intimacy in interpersonal relationships, and development of the self-expansion model of motivation in close relationships. In 2018, Dr Aron featured in the Australian narrative film ‘36 Questions’. The film’s synopsis reads: a romantic comedy from Australia about a first date at an Italian restaurant. The young couple is greeted by a quirky waiter. Instead of giving them a menu, he hands them 36 questions to help them get to know each other. James and Gabrielle have a great time asking the questions. It creates a wonderful, positive connection between them, until James makes a hurtful comment that could ruin everything. (en)
