- "Chasing the dragon" (CTD) (traditional Chinese: 追龍; simplified Chinese: 追龙; pinyin: zhuī lóng; Jyutping: zeoi1 lung4), or "foily" in Australian English, refers to inhaling the vapor from a heated solution of a powdered psychoactive drug on a sheet of aluminum foil. The moving vapor is chased after with a tube (often rolled foil) through which the user inhales. The "chasing" occurs as the user gingerly keeps the liquid moving in order to keep it from overheating and burning up too quickly, on a heat conducting material such as aluminium foil. Another use of the term "chasing the dragon" refers to the elusive pursuit of a high equal to the user’s first in the use of a drug, which after acclimation is no longer achievable. Used in this way, “chasing the dragon” can refer to any recreational drug administered by any means. (en)
- Un chino en la jerga callejera de España es una de las formas de consumir la heroína. Consiste en poner la heroína sobre un trozo de papel de aluminio (habitualmente cortado en forma rectangular). Posteriormente se le aplica una llama por la parte posterior del papel de aluminio, lo cual produce la licuación de la droga, que al inclinar el papel de aluminio se desplaza por el mismo, desprendiendo vapores que son inhalados a través de un rulo (en jerga, cilindro hueco generalmente realizado con papel de aluminio), normalmente por la boca, aunque puede realizarse por la nariz aproximándolo a la sustancia. A esta forma de consumo se le llama "fumarse un chino". Los efectos son prácticamente inmediatos. Algunas veces se mezcla con otras drogas, como la cocaína, después de prepararla para esta clase de forma de consumirla. La cocaína consumida de igual manera y sin mezclar, premeditadamente, con otras drogas se le suele llamar (en España) base, debido al proceso químico para obtenerla en ese estado. (es)
- Chinezen is een manier om via inhalatie drugs zoals heroïne of cocaïne te consumeren. Het poeder wordt op een stukje aluminiumfolie verhit waardoor er damp ontstaat. Die damp wordt vervolgens door een rietje of buisje ingeademd. Deze methode wordt gebruikt omdat hiervoor geen injectiemateriaal benodigd is en er geen risico is op het krijgen van infecties door het injecteren in de bloedbaan. Bovendien is het een wat rustigere wijze van innemen: er komt geen , maar het effect komt rustig opzetten. Als buisje wordt vaak een stukje karton gebruikt, zoals de voorflap van een pakje vloeipapier, eventueel van binnen bekleed met aluminiumfolie om de achterblijvende stoffen in het buisje later op te kunnen roken. Zonder folie lukt dat maar deels omdat er veel olie/aanslag in het karton trekt. De term "chinezen" ontstond waarschijnlijk omdat deze techniek oorspronkelijk in Azië werd gebruikt voor het inhaleren van opiumdampen. (nl)
