- Die CS-23 (Abkürzung für Certification Specifications 23) ist die für leichte Motorflugzeuge anzuwendende Bau- und Zulassungsvorschrift, herausgegeben von der EASA. Sie ist anwendbar auf:
* Flugzeuge in den Kategorien normal, utility oder aerobatic mit maximal 9 Sitzplätzen (ohne Pilot(en)) und einer maximalen Startmasse von 5.670 kg (12.500 lbs)
* Flugzeuge der Kategorie commuter mit maximal 19 Sitzplätzen (ohne Pilot(en)) und einer maximalen Startmasse von 8.618 kg (19.000 lbs) Je nach gewählter Kategorie sieht die CS-23 mehrere Manöver vor (CS 23.3).
* Normal-Kategorie: normaler Flug, kein Kunstflug; Stalls sowie Chandelles, Lazy Eights und Steilkurven mit maximal 60° Querneigung
* Utility-Kategorie: wie Normal-Kategorie, jedoch mit Querneigungen bis 90°; zusätzlich Trudeln, falls vom Hersteller zugelassen
* Aerobatic-Kategorie: keine Beschränkungen seitens der Zulassungsvorschrift
* Commuter-Kategorie: Normalflug, Stalls und Steilkurven mit Querneigungen bis 60° Flugzeuge, die nicht in der Commuter-Kategorie zugelassen sind, können für mehrere Kategorien zugelassen werden. (de)
- EASA CS-23 is the European Aviation Safety Agency Certification Specification for Normal, Utility, Aerobatic, and Commuter Category Aeroplanes. This certification procedure is available for aircraft satisfying the following criteria:
* Single-engine aeroplanes in the normal, utility and aerobatic categories that have a seating configuration, excluding the pilot seat(s), of 9 or fewer and a maximum certificated take-off weight MTOW of 5670 kg (12 500 lb) or less (these aircraft are also known as class B under EU-OPS 1),
* Twin-engined propeller-driven aeroplanes in the commuter category that have a seating configuration, excluding the pilot seat(s), of 19 or fewer and a maximum certificated take-off weight of 8618 kg (19 000 lb) or less (some of these aircraft are also known as class C under EU-OPS 1),

Example of typical CS-23 aeroplanes: Cessna 152, Diamond DA20 Eclipse, Cessna 172, Piper PA-28, Mooney M20, Beechcraft Bonanza, Tecnam P2006T, Diamond DA42, Piper PA-34 Seneca, Piper PA-46, Beechcraft King Air, Cessna Citation Mustang. * Aviones de transporte regional, con un máximo de 19 personas (sin piloto/s) y un peso máximo al despegue de 8618 kg. La categoría de la aeronave depende del tipo de maniobras que puede realizar, siendo las categorías normal y de transporte regional las más restrictivas y la categoría de aviones acrobáticos la más permisiva en lo que a maniobras se refiere.
