- Frigyes Ákos Hazslinszky (o en su versión germana de su nombre Friedrich August Hazslinszky von Hazslin) ( Kežmarok, 6 de enero 1818 – Prešov, 16 de septiembre 1896) fue un súbdito del reino de Hungría, micólogo, briólogo, pteridólogo, y botánico. Luego de completar sus estudios de liceo en Késmark (hoy Kežmarok, Eslovaquia), estudió filosofía, leyes, teología, química, trabajando concurrentemente como maestro. Después de un periodo como profesor en Debrecen y en Sárospatak, y estudios en Viena, sería profesor de física y de matemática en el Colegio Luterano en Eperjes (hoy Prešov) en 1846. Sus obras científicas y contribuciones se centraron en la flora de lo que fue Hungría del Norte – hoy Eslovaquia -, en particular las de Spiš, Orava, y en los montes Tatras. Hazslinszky publicó extensamente en botánica, pteridología, y particularmente en micología. Publicó la primera guía de identificación de la flora de Hungría, en 1864, y más de cien artículos y monografías mayormente micológicas, además de la monumental Beiträge zur Kenntniss der Flora der Karpathen ('Contribuciones al conocimiento de la flora de los Cárpatos) en nueve partes. - Frigyes Ákos Hazslinszky or in German version of his name Friedrich August Hazslinszky von Hazslin (Késmárk Kingdom of Hungary, Austrian Empire, 6 January 1818 – Eperjes, Kingdom of Hungary, Austria-Hungary 16 September 1896) was a Hungarian mycologist and botanist. Upon completing his lyceum studies in Késmark (today Kežmarok, Slovakia), he studied philosophy, law, theology and chemistry, working concurrently as a teacher. After a stint as teacher in Debrecen and Sárospatak, and further studies in Vienna, he became professor of physics and mathematic at the Lutheran College in Eperjes (today Prešov) in 1846. His scientific interests and contributions centered on the then Northern Hungarian – now Slovakian - flora, in particular the one of the Szepesség, Orava and the Tatra Mountains. Hazslinszky published extensively in botany, pteridology and particularly in mycology. He published the first Hungarian plant identification guide in 1864 as well as over a hundred, mostly mycological papers and monographs, among them the monumental Beiträge zur Kenntniss der Flora der Karpathen in 9 parts. He was a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The genus Hazslinszkya was named in his honour by Gustav Wilhelm Körber in 1861. The standard author abbreviation Hazsl. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name. (en)
