- Jürgen Brümmer (* 8. Dezember 1964 in Stuttgart; † 25. Februar 2014 in Ostfildern) war ein deutscher Kunstturner und Sportphysiotherapeut. Er gewann neun Deutsche Meistertitel. Brümmer nahm 1987 und 1989 an Turn-Weltmeisterschaften teil und gehörte außerdem bei den Turn-Europameisterschaften 1987 und bei den Olympischen Sommerspielen 1988 zur westdeutschen Mannschaft. Als Sportphysiotherapeut betreute Brümmer 1992 die Juniorennationalmannschaft der Kunstturner, von 1992 bis 1994 die Handballmannschaft des TSV Scharnhausen und von 1996 bis 1998 die damals in der 2. Fußball-Bundesliga spielenden Stuttgarter Kickers. In der Nacht zum 25. Februar 2014 beging Brümmer Suizid. Kurze Zeit später wurde sein 15-jähriger Sohn, der seit einem schweren Unfall im Jahr 2012 pflegebedürftig war, tot aufgefunden. Brümmer hinterließ seine Frau und einen weiteren Sohn. (de)

He competed at the 1987 and 1989 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. In 1987, he also was a competitor at the . One year later, Brümmer also competed for West Germany at the Summer Olympics in Seoul. As physical therapist, Brümmer served the German junior gymnast team in 1992, and from 1992 to 1994, the handball team of . From 1996 to 1998, he worked for the soccer team Stuttgarter Kickers. In the night of 25 February 2014, Brümmer died by suicide at the Koersch Viaduct. Around 3 a.m. his car was found near the viaduct. Shortly afterwards, his 15-year-old son, who was in need of ongoing care since an accident two years before, was found dead in his home, evidently having been suffocated by Brümmer. Brümmer is survived by his wife and a second son. (en)

W latach 80 XX wieku, należał do niemieckiej czołówki wśród gimnastyków artystycznych. Był dziewięciokrotnym mistrzem kraju, a także reprezentantem kraju podczas XXIV Letnich Igrzysk Olimpijskich w Seulu. Po zakończeniu kariery sportowej pracował jako fizjoterapeuta i masażysta. W 2012 r., jego 13-letni syn Simon, został potrącony przez samochód i sparaliżowany. W wyniku kalectwa syna, Jürgen Brümmer przeszedł załamanie nerwowe. 26 lutego 2014 r., odnaleziono jego ciało pod jednym z pod stuttgarckich mostów. Przyczyną śmierci było prawdopodobnie samobójstwo. Jednocześnie w domu sportowca odnaleziono ciało jego syna. (pl)
