- Los Angeles Metro Bus is the transit bus service in Los Angeles County, California operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). In 2021, the system had a ridership of 179,853,200, or about 611,700 per weekday as of the second quarter of 2022. As of June 2022, there are 113 routes in the system. Metro employs the drivers that operate most routes, but some are contracted out to MV Transportation, Southland Transit, and Transdev. Los Angeles Metro has the third largest fleet in North America, with 2,320 buses, about 80 percent are standard length (35 feet (11 m) or longer) and 17 percent are high-capacity 60-foot (18 m) articulated buses.
