- La Ruta Provincial 55 es una autopista pavimentada de 458 km que recorre la Provincia de San Luis, Argentina, de norte a sur en el extremo oriental, cerca del límite con las provincias de Córdoba y La Pampa. Originalmente este camino formaba parte de la Ruta Nacional 148. Mediante el Decreto Nacional 1595 del año 1979, el tramo al sur del empalme con la Ruta Nacional 188 en el pueblo de Nueva Galia, pasó a jurisdicción provincial. De esta manera se le cambió la denominación a Ruta Provincial 55. Dicho tramo era un camino de tierra en el momento de la transferencia, por lo que la Provincia lo pavimentó posteriormente. Por Convenio suscripto el 4 de septiembre de 2001 entre el Ministerio de Infraestructura y Vivienda y el Gobierno de la Provincia de San Luis, se transfirió la Ruta Nacional 148 en el tramo comprendido entre el empalme con la Ruta Nacional 188 y el límite con la Provincia de Córdoba. Dicho camino se sumó a la Ruta Provincial 55. En diciembre de 2001 el gobierno provincial licitó la construcción de una autovía de 176 km entre Villa Mercedes y Merlo. Luego de 960 días de construcción, la obra fue inaugurada el 10 de agosto de 2007 con el nombre de Autopista de los Comechingones. El 11 de junio de 2009 comenzaron los trabajos para convertir en autovía el tramo de 256 km entre Villa Mercedes y Arizona, cerca del límite con la Provincia de La Pampa. El 19 de marzo de 2011 autoridades provinciales inauguraron la obra que tuvo un costo de 512 millones de pesos con el nombre de Autopista por la Paz del Mundo. (es)
- Provincial Route 55 is a 458 km (285 mi) long paved highway that runs through San Luis Province, from north to south at the eastern end, near the border with the provinces of Córdoba and La Pampa. Originally this road was part of National Route 148. Through National Decree 1595 of 1979, the section south of the junction with in the town of Nueva Galia, passed to provincial jurisdiction. In this way the name was changed to Provincial Route 55. This section was a dirt road at the time of the transfer, for which the provincial government subsequently paved it. With an agreement signed on 4 September 2001 between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing and the Government of the Province of San Luis, National Route 148 was transferred in the section between the junction with National Route 188 and the border with the Province of Córdoba. This road was added to Provincial Route 55. In December 2001, the provincial government put out to tender the construction of a 176 km (109 mi) highway between Villa Mercedes and Merlo. After 960 days of construction, the work was inaugurated on 10 August 2007 under the name Autopista de los Comechingones. On 11 June 2009, work began to convert the 256 km (159 mi) section between Villa Mercedes and Arizona into a highway, near the border with the Province of La Pampa. On 19 March 2011, provincial authorities inaugurated the work that had a cost of 512 million pesos under the name Autopista por la Paz del Mundo. (en)
