- Laconia (Originaltitel The Sinking of the Laconia) ist ein zweiteiliger deutsch-britischer Spielfilm aus dem Jahr 2011. Er handelt von der Versenkung des britischen Dampfers RMS Laconia durch das U-Boot U 156 der Kriegsmarine unter dem Kommando von Werner Hartenstein am 12. September 1942. Die von Hartenstein anschließend angeordnete Rettungsaktion für die Überlebenden führte zum „Laconia-Befehl“ des deutschen BdUs Admiral Dönitz, der deutschen U-Booten untersagte, Schiffbrüchige von versenkten alliierten Schiffen aufzunehmen oder ihnen sonstige Unterstützung zu gewähren. The film is a British-German co-production, written by Alan Bleasdale, directed by Uwe Janson, and with Andrew Buchan, Brian Cox, Ken Duken, Morven Christie, Lindsay Duncan, Thomas Kretschmann and Franka Potente in the leading roles.
