- Le Toronto Rock and Roll Revival (aussi appelé Toronto Peace Festival) est un festival de musique. Organisé le 13 septembre 1969 au Varsity Stadium de Toronto, il met en vedette un certain nombre d'artistes populaires des années 1950 : Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Gene Vincent, partageant la scène avec des groupes du moment : The Doors, Alice Cooper, Chicago Transit Authority, etc.. Ce festival est particulièrement marqué par la première performance de John Lennon avec sa femme Yoko Ono et leur groupe le Plastic Ono Band, marquant sa première apparition scénique sans les Beatles, qui aboutira à la sortie quelques mois plus tard de l'album live, Live Peace in Toronto 1969. C'est également lors de cet événement qu'Alice Cooper est découvert pour la première fois par le public canadien. Le Toronto Rock and Roll Revival Festival a été filmé par D.A Pennebaker et a fait l'objet de plusieurs films dont le plus notable Sweet Toronto est sorti en 1971. (fr)
