- Die Variationen in f-Moll (Hob. XVII:6) aus dem Jahr 1793 sind ein Klavierstück von Joseph Haydn. Zusammen mit den drei Londoner Klaviersonaten (Hob. XVI:50-52) gehören sie zu seinen letzten Klavierwerken. Das als Doppelvariationen angelegte Werk ist eines der beliebtesten Klavierstücke von Haydn und seit dem Erscheinen der Erstausgabe 1799 beinahe durchgehend im pianistischen Repertoire. Ein Rezensent der Leipziger Allgemeinen Musikalischen Zeitung vom 8. Mai 1799 hebt bereits den emotionalen Ausdruckscharakter und virtuosen Schluss des Werks hervor: „Ein schwermüthiges Andante aus F moll, wie ein Meister nur variiren kann, dass sichs beynahe als freye Phantasie anhört.“ Die Variationen in f-Moll sind auch unter den Namen f-moll-Variationen, Sonata (Un piccolo divertimento) und Andante con variazioni bekannt. - Les Variations en fa mineur ou Andante con variazioni « Un picolo divertimento » Hob XVII/6 est une œuvre pour clavier de Joseph Haydn écrite en 1793. Son écriture survient peu après le décès de son amie et élève Marianne von Genziger. Haydn projetait initialement que cela soit le premier mouvement d'une sonate, projet non abouti. L'œuvre repose sur deux thèmes issus de son opéra L'anima del filosofo (l'âme du philosophe). Son exécution demande environ un quart d'heure. (fr)
- The Andante with variations in F minor (Hoboken 17/6), also known as Un piccolo divertimento, was composed for piano by Joseph Haydn in 1793, and is among his most popular piano works. (The late British composer and pianist John McCabe, in his booklet note accompanying his boxed set of recordings of Haydn's complete solo keyboard music, was of the opinion that it was possibly inspired by the death of Maria Anna von Genzinger (1754–93, called "Marianne") [p. 23]. McCabe also says that this piece is Haydn's "most extended and most resourceful such work for the keyboard" [p. 22].) The variations here are a set of double variations, the first theme is in F minor and the second theme in F major. Two variations of each theme and an extended coda follow. The manuscript of the Variations is owned by the Music Division of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. For the Haydn bicentennial in 2009, G. Henle Verlag published a facsimile of the manuscript. (en)
