Our technology lowers financial barriers to healthcare and accelerates progress towards #UHC.
Info
Challenge Financial barriers cause millions of adults and children in Sub-saharan Africa to suffer from inadequate access to healthcare. Despite a global initiative to achieve universal health coverage by 2030, out-of-pocket payments remain the primary method of covering health expenses in the region. This pushes an estimated 20 million people in sub-Saharan Africa into extreme poverty every year. Mission We believe in equitable access to quality healthcare. Therefore, our mission is to build and implement technology that lowers financial barriers to healthcare and accelerates progress towards universal health coverage. Solution We developed mTOMADY so that anyone, anywhere can access essential health services free from financial risk. mTOMADY is a multi-player platform that connects beneficiaries to different health financing mechanisms. A simple SIM card enables users to enroll in public or private health programs, and send, save, or spend money for health-specific expenses.

🎉 It’s official : The mTOMADY platform is now interoperable with DHIS2, the national health data system used by the Ministry of Public Health in Madagascar 🇲🇬 and by many other countries across Africa 🌍. This milestone strengthens our contribution to better health data, enabling smarter decisions and more resilient health systems, while staying true to mTOMADY’s DNA: improving access and financial protection in healthcare. Our sincere thanks to the Ministry of Public Health, and especially the Directorate of Studies, Planning and Health Information Systems (DEPSI), for their trust and continued collaboration. #DigitalHealth #Interoperability #DHIS2 #HealthData #FinancialProtection #PublicHealth #Partnership

In Madagascar, < 50% of births are attended by health workers 15% of women receive no antenatal care at all ❤️ But we can change this: Since 2019, over 50,000 pregnant women in Madagascar have signed up for the MMHW, reducing their financial barriers to maternal care. 🌸 €9.92 provides essential medicines and ultrasounds for a pregnant woman. 🌸 €29.76 ensures vital care for three expectant mothers. 🌸 €53 covers life-saving surgical care for a C-section delivery. Join us in making childbirth safer - and share to spread the word. https://lnkd.in/d42A4wXD #innovation #Healthcare #donateforimpact #womenhealth

Warming up before starting our session on the impact of climate on maternal health, the children joined in as holidays brought them along. We turned it into a moment of joy and awareness for them too. This August, our focus was on raising awareness about diarrhea, guided by the Climate & Health Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health With the support of Grand Challenges Canada @ministere de la santé publique , @ASOS Madagascar #safemom #digitalhealth #maternalhealth

Last Wednesday, we met Herimanitra to talk about how she’s preparing for childbirth. "I sell yellow jerrycans (used to store water) to survive, but I only earn 300 Ariary from each one I sell. I already have a 3-year-old child, but because of my situation, he doesn’t live with me. The work is too hard, and I often fall sick — even during pregnancy. By the end of the day, most of the time, I have nothing left. I am happy that you came to guide me: I’m going to the local health center to get free medicine and an ultrasound. And I’ve started saving little by little so I can be ready for the delivery." — Herimanitra, 29 Valérie, the community coach, told her: "We are here for you. Go to the health center, and start saving money on your phone…" Over the past year, 7,653 pregnant women like Herimanitra have received support through the #Safemom program, with the support of Grand Challenges Canada 🇨🇦 and the Ministry of Health 🇲🇬.

Une équipe est un groupe de personnes où chacun peut s’épanouir autour d’une cause commune et contribuer à écrire une histoire collective. Ceux qui partent ont écrit des pages, ceux qui restent et arrivent poursuivent le récit. A team is a group of people who grow together and work towards a common goal. Everyone helps build a shared story. Those who leave have written important parts of it, and those who stay — and those who join — keep the story going. 📸 Team Tana 2024 & 2025
