Goodbye and off to new horizons! How do you say goodbye to a role that has shaped you so much more than you ever imagined when you first walked into it? After more than 4.5 years, I’ve decided to step down as Director of the Creative Bureaucracy Festival and as Deputy Managing Director at the Falling Walls Foundation at the end of this year. It wasn’t an easy decision, but one that comes with a lot of gratitude for everything I’ve learned and experienced, pride in what my teams and I have built, and excitement for whatever comes next (even if that part is still unknown). Leading and growing the Creative Bureaucracy Festival has been an incredible adventure. Together with a wonderful team, we’ve turned it into a global platform for innovation in the public sector – connecting over 1,000 speakers, hundreds of partner organizations, and more than 10,000 guests from over 40 countries across the past five festivals I’ve had the chance to lead. Alongside the festival, I also took on responsibility for Berlin Science Week and, as Deputy Managing Director, helped steer the overall direction of the Falling Walls Foundation. These experiences gave me new perspective on how science, innovation, and public impact can come together. We built spaces for learning, courage, creativity, and collaboration - for people who believe bureaucracy can, and must, be a force for good. This work changed how I think about transformation: it’s not just about systems, but about people - their optimism, curiosity, and willingness to act. I’m really proud of what we achieved together: a wonderful community, new partnerships, and a growing belief that meaningful change in the public sector is possible. What’s next? That story is still being written, and I’m excited to find out where it leads. If you’d like to explore ideas or new directions together, I’d love to hear from you! Right now, I’m looking for my next challenge and playing with a few ideas. What I know for sure is that I’ll keep building spaces where people can thrive and where bridges are built between transformation, and the public good. Next week I’ll be joining a panel (link in comments) to talk about the future of innovation and collaboration. I’m looking forward to the conversations and the possibilities that will grow. ✨ If you’re around, come to the panel – let’s meet and chat! And beyond that: I’d love to connect with people who are driving change – in the public sector, civil society, or anywhere innovation and impact come together. ☕ Let’s talk about change, skills, and the future. 💖 A lot of love and thanks to my wonderful teams at the Falling Walls Foundation: Juliane B., Saskia Lienert, Nathan H., Laura Harbert, Laura W., Maria Leal, Charles Landry, Robyn Bennett, Christian Rauch, Anisia Petcu, Judi Kleine-Brockhoff, Judith Bodenstein, Clara Roca-Sastre, Jéssica Nakazima, the leadership team Andreas Kosmider, Laura Sager, Luca Li Zercher and Danielle Metzler and everyone else 💖
