American Rheinmetall has been awarded a contract valued at $31M (26,6 MioEUR) to support a Rapid Damage Assessment and Repair Demonstration for the U.S. Army and Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). Under this 18-month contract, awarded by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, Inc. (NCMS), American Rheinmetall will develop and demonstrate advanced damage assessment and repair processes by establishing a forward-deployed maintenance capability, for assessing and repairing damaged or broken Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) closer to operational areas. Program Overview The demonstration will use the Bradley IFV as a surrogate platform to validate a Rapid Damage Assessment and Repair (DAR) Team trained and equipped with advanced processes, tools, and a responsive supply chain ecosystem. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between battlefield damage and full depot-level repair by enabling rapid, efficient restoration of combat effectiveness until new parts or dedicated repair teams arrive. Once developed, this program will validate a scalable approach to establishing remote damage assessment and repair sites capable of operating in hazardous or harsh environments. The outcome will reduce downtime, improve readiness, and strengthen resilience across heavy equipment and infrastructure. Strengthening Allied Readiness The Rapid Damage Assessment and Repair Demonstration supports U.S. foreign assistance efforts by helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine return Bradley IFVs to operational status amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. “This contract underscores American Rheinmetall’s commitment to delivering innovative, mission-critical products and services that support the highest priority operational capabilities for the U.S. military and its allies,” said Matt Warnick, Chief Executive Officer, American Rheinmetall. “By bringing advanced repair capabilities closer to the point of need, we are helping ensure that vital equipment like the Bradley Fighting Vehicle can return to service quickly and safely at a time of crucial need for Ukrainian armed forces.” The project is scheduled for completion in March 2027, with delivery of the first repaired Bradley IFVs expected at that time. #Gesundheitstag #AzubiLife #Ausbildung #Dualstudium #BVB #Rheinmetall #fangeinfachan #CorporateSocialIntegrity

Rheinmetall hosts FACT’s fourth End-User Conference The EDF FACT - Federated Advanced Cyber physical Test range project held its fourth end-user conference in Bremen, Germany, on October 20, hosted by Rheinmetall. This conference provided the consortium with an important platform for direct exchange with the European Commission and representatives of European Ministries of Defence (MoD). “With the FACT project, we reaffirm our dedication to driving Europe’s defence forward. In today’s world, cybersecurity and resilience are not optional – they are the foundation of every modern system. FACT marks a decisive step in European defence cooperation, pioneering the development of cyber-resilient products and creating a shared framework for cyber-physical testing and procedures. By setting new standards across Member States, FACT strengthens Europe’s resilience and builds a safer, more secure future together", stated Alexander Hofer, Project Manager at Rheinmetall. Rheinmetall’s role in FACT Among its many contributions to the FACT project, Rheinmetall is responsible for delivering the FACT prototype. Rheinmetall is establishing a dedicated instance of the federated test lab. This includes procuring or leasing the required equipment, integrating the essential components, and configuring them to operate seamlessly as a unified system. Rheinmetall not only ensures the creation of a robust and fully functional prototype environment but also demonstrates its commitment to driving innovation and technological excellence within the FACT consortium. #Defence #Cybersecuriy #Digitalforces #Rheinmetall
FACT holds its 4th End-User Conference The EDF Federated Advanced Cyber-physical Test range (FACT) project held its fourth end-user conference in Bremen, Germany, on October 20, hosted by Rheinmetall. This conference provided the consortium with an important platform for direct exchange with the European Commission and representatives of European Ministries of Defence (MoD). “We are always satisfied and proud to see that, end-user conference after end-user conference, supporting Member States continue to delegate experienced representatives to partake in the discussions. It demonstrates the added value of these conferences, as they allow for expectations and feedback to be passed on to the FACT Consortium. They also highlight the sustained commitment of supporting Member States in favour of the FACT project, in general, and the future capabilities that are currently emerging as a direct result, more specifically.” Stated Morten Calisch, representative of the Norwegian Ministry of Defence. ⚙️ The end-user conference allowed consortium members to showcase ongoing progress through live demonstrations, gather valuable feedback from end-users, and discuss the next steps of the project, including the end-of-project demonstrations planned for three different use cases (drone, radar, 5G). The meeting also signals the transition to a new phase of the project, which will focus on prototyping activities of FACT’s solution, defining the cyber test range environment and platform implementation, and moving forward towards the cyber-physical system demonstration. 🌐 The significant presence of MoD representatives also underscored the growing importance of FACT as a European Defence Fund project that is becoming increasingly tangible in the field of cyber resilience while meeting the current needs of European armed forces. 🇪🇺 EU FACT is a development project co-funded by the European Union under Grant-Agreement n. 101121335, awarded through European Defence Fund (EDF) in 2022. “Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only”.

Focus on team spirit and capacity expansion Roman Köhne is back in Unterlüß. After spending time at the headquarters in Düsseldorf, at Rheinmetall Denel Munition in South Africa, and as head of the Weapons & Ammunition business unit, he most recently took on responsibility as CEO of the Indirect Fire business unit in Spain. The 47-year-old has been in charge of the Weapons and Ammunition division since the beginning of 2025. During his first tour of the site, Köhne was already impressed by the commitment and successes of the workforce in the Südheide region. Today, his main focus is on further capacity expansion at the Rheinmetall sites and the construction of new plants to meet urgently needed requirements in a timely manner. “We can really make a difference as a team and make a lasting contribution to strengthening the security of Germany and our allies. The work we all do is important – and that motivates me every day,” says Köhne, putting the importance of the tasks to be accomplished at Rheinmetall into a larger context. This clearly defined purpose is compelling. He also emphasizes the importance of corporate values as essential guidelines for all employees: “Respect, trust, and openness are not just buzzwords, but the basis for successful work—across locations and national borders. This is how we will unleash our full potential as a team and grow together.” His message is clear: Rheinmetall's success is based on effective cooperation that values differences and integrates old and new colleagues. This will enable everyone to work together optimally. And that is what he is committed to. ➡️ Rheinmetall and MBDA: German laser weapon system close to market readiness ➡️ Düsseldorf/Schrobenhausen, 28 October 2025 – Following the successful completion of a one-year trial phase at sea, defence contractors Rheinmetall and MBDA Germany have transferred a laser demonstrator for the Navy to the Laser Competence Centre at the Technical Centre for Weapons and Ammunition (WTD 91) in Meppen for further testing. This marks a major step in the development of a high-energy laser weapon system for maritime use, and highlights the strong partnership between the two German technology companies. ➡️ Based on this, an operational laser weapon system could be available to the German Navy as of 2029, providing a powerful and costeffective addition to conventional guided missiles. ➡️ Thanks to WTD 91’s support during the acceptance process, the demonstrator was successfully commissioned at the Laser Competence Centre in Meppen. This represents an important step towards achieving rapid market and operational readiness for a future laser system for the Navy. ➡️ The containerised demonstrator has already been successfully tested several times over the course of a year under real operational conditions at sea on board the frigate SACHSEN, proving the system’s robustness and performance. With the support of WTD 91 in Meppen, the laser container has now been put into operation for further land-based drone defence testing. Shift change – change of perspective at the Rheinmetall plant at KS Gleitlager The term “shift change” has taken on a whole new meaning for us in St. Leon-Rot. As part of the nationwide “Shift Change – Change of Perspective” campaign day, people with disabilities and employees from companies swapped jobs for a day – and with them, their perspectives. Our trainer Heiko Djuritschek visited the Therapeutikum Heilbronn and gained valuable insights into the activities and challenges there. Shortly afterwards, Daniel Bertsch and Patrick Rückert from the Therapeutikum Heilbronn were welcomed to our plant. Together with our trainees, workpieces, conversations, and a real change of perspective were created in the training workshop. The action day is organized by the Federal Working Group of Workshops for Disabled People (“Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Werkstätten für Menschen mit Behinderung”). The aim is to break down barriers, promote openness, and open up new avenues of cooperation between these workshops and companies. The mutual exchange of workplaces creates a common understanding of possible changes. Heiko Djuritschek reports: “My visit to the Therapeutikum was a great experience, from which I will take away many new perspectives and ideas for our everyday work.” Conclusion: The shift change was an enriching experience for everyone involved, showing how much openness, commitment, and empathy can achieve. Our trainer looks forward to continuing the exchange with Therapeutikum Heilbronn— and to continue actively contributing to the success of the campaign day and beyond.
