Is there an instance where you profited from an innovation which originally came from a completely different field?

Is singular, sensational thinking killing textile innovation? Thomas Gries of RWTH Aachen University warns us, not to overly focus on current buzzwords like "AI" or "Circularity". Innovation often lies in topics which are much more subtle. Have you made this experience as well?

The Digital Product Passport aims for *full transparency* concerning textile production. The hope is to *create more demand for sustainable production* amongst consumers and public procurement authorities. Why? As Dirk Vantyghem, Director General the EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation stresses: The textile industry can create more sustainable products, but if there is no market for them, these efforts are rendered moot. *The consumer side needs to be empowered to make sustainable choices.*
-
EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation is asking the European Commission to create the right circumstances to A) help create a more sustainable future and at the same time B) keep the competition fair and equal. As Dirk Vantyghem explains here: If regulations do not manage to get this balance right, Europe would lose on both fronts: Environmentally and Economically.
