Our Quality Team is central to maintaining levels of trust in our service. Team members conduct in-depth investigations into cases of concern. In 2024 alone, they dedicated more than 830 hours to over 470 investigations. Our Deputy Head of Editorial for Quality, Cenyu Shen, and our Managing Editor and member of the Quality Team, Paula Marjamäki, have written a blog post describing some of the trends that have developed over the last 4 years: https://lnkd.in/dXBYgJ36 #openaccess #DOAJ #scholcomm #predatorypublishing #AcademicChatter

We're looking forward to participating in this project and to fruitful collaborations with the project partners!
🌍💎 The ALMASI Project is the first project to gather Europe, Africa & Latin America to develop a globally aligned, nonprofit, high-quality and sustainable scholarly communications ecosystem. SPARC Europe is thrilled to be one of 15 partners from 10 countries to work on #ALMASI (Aligning and Mutualising Nonprofit OA Publishing Services Internationally), which has received funding from Horizon Europe to work on global #DiamondOA publishing until December 2027. ALMASI ☑️ strives to gain a better understanding of nonprofit #OpenAccess scholarly publishing in Europe, Africa & Latin America, ☑️ co-designs and implements good practices of service provision, ☑️ aims to improve the technical and scientific quality of publishing solutions ☑️ & stimulates the development of institutional and national policies that also financially support nonprofit OA publishing. SPARC Europe will ☑️ co-lead the workpackage on ’Exploring and supporting sustainability through policy and funding’ with Iryna Kuchma (EIFL), and will ☑️ contribute significantly to ‘Mapping of nonprofit OA publishing services and solutions’ & ‘Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation.’ We look forward to working with partners AFRICAN JOURNALS ONLINE (RF) CNRS Directory of Open Access Books https://www.doabooks.org/ DOAJ EIFL ESF - European Science Foundation Federation of Finnish Learned Societies Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología, FECYT Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association OPERAS Research Infrastructure Public Knowledge Project Sistema de Información Científica Redalyc, Red de Revistas Científicas The University of Göttingen Universite de Lorraine Read more about our role on ALMASI here: https://lnkd.in/emBFFQxC

The 22 adopters of the Principles of Open Scholarly Infrastructure (POSI) have proposed some revisions that would form a version 2.0. Together we have issued a call for comments on the draft with a survey to give feedback, with a deadline March 5th. If you're an adopter or considering adopting these principles, or if you use them to assess who to work with, please take a look and add your thoughts. It will help shape the future of open scholarly infrastructure, so thanks in advance! Anonymised responses will be summarised publicly. https://lnkd.in/dM6pGQKT CLOCKSS CORE (COnnecting REpositories) COUNTER Metrics Crossref DataCite DOAJ Dryad Europe PMC (European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI) HAL+ (CCSD - Centre for direct scientific communication) Journal of Open Source Software Liberate Science OAPEN Foundation and DOAB OA Switchboard (Stichting OA Switchboard) OpenAIRE AMKE OpenCitations OPERAS Research Infrastructure Our Research Peer Community In Public Knowledge Project ROR - Research Organization Registry Sciety SciPost
