“More or Less: 60 Chairs in 60 Years” — the exhibition now on view at Fondazione Studio Museo Vico Magistretti in Milan — celebrates the designer’s lifelong passion for chairs. “I have a somewhat shameful passion for chairs. I think it's because they’re the hardest thing, they don't forgive you anything. It's hard to be happy with a chair,” Magistretti admitted in a 2003 interview. Among the highlights is his iconic Carimate™ chair — the 1959 design that united Scandinavian clarity with Italy’s wood-and-straw tradition, and which remains in production today. The exhibition runs until 26 February 2026 Via Vincenzo Bellini 1, 20122 Milan, Italy Discover the Carimate™ chair here: https://lnkd.in/d988netd

One firm, two cities—unified through design. Cuatrecasas has shaped its offices in Lisbon and Barcelona with a shared sense of identity—spaces designed for wellbeing, transparency and contemporary ways of working. Though distinct in location and layout, both offices speak the same design language: soft-toned palettes, natural textures and open, light-filled interiors. In key spaces, the sculptural presence of Arne Jacobsen’s Swan™ and Egg™ chairs adds warmth and elegance—design icons that reinforce a cohesive, recognisable atmosphere across borders. Originally sketched in the 1950s, the PK23™ lounge chair reveals Kjærholm’s search for new forms in laminated wood. In 1961, Jørn Utzon designed a home for his friend and colleague Povl Ahm, a partner at Ove Arup & Partners. The two had met while working together on the Sydney Opera House. Set in the English countryside, the house reflects the same Danish sensibility that shaped Utzon’s architectural legacy. Visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sculptural Egg™ chair by Arne Jacobsen adds a further layer of Danish modernism to this remarkable home. Arne Jacobsen imagined the Egg™ as a place apart. Designed to sit within the strict architecture of the SAS Royal Hotel, he drew a softer shape - curved, enveloping, and hushed. Sit in its embrace and the noise falls away. What’s left is a quiet intimacy, a feeling of privacy even in the busiest of spaces.
