🐴𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 🐴 At SEGES Innovation, we are proud to contribute with our equine expertise in the important work of improving horse welfare in sport — in close collaboration with organisations, authorities and the Ministry of Food. Last week, our Chief Advisor Jørgen Kold joined the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, MP Christoffer Aagaard Melson, and Kimi Nielsen from Dansk Ride Forbund (Danish Equestrian Federation) at Baunehøj Riding Centre to discuss the sector’s progress on key welfare initiatives. From updated judging criteria in dressage to stricter equipment rules and a stronger focus on behavioural science, the sector is taking significant steps forward. We are pleased to see how our joint efforts are helping to shape a more responsible and sustainable equestrian sport — both nationally and internationally. Because horse welfare is a shared responsibility. And together, we can lead the way. 💚 #HorseWelfare #EquestrianSport #SEGESInnovation #SammenOmHestevelfærd #AnimalWelfare #SustainableSport #EquineScience Photo by Danish Equestrian Federation

🤝 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🐄 At SEGES Innovation, we believe that the best solutions are created together. That’s why we’re proud to announce two new partnerships with VikingDanmark, aimed at improving hoof health and reproduction in Danish cattle farming. These partnerships are more than just collaboration – they’re a new way of working. By sharing workspaces and knowledge, our specialists and VikingDanmark’s advisors are developing tools that work in real life, on real farms. The goal? Better animal welfare, stronger farm economics, and smarter decision-making for farmers and advisors alike. “Hoof disorders and poor reproduction are costly – for both animals and farmers. That’s why we’re excited to team up with VikingDanmark to develop solutions that truly make a difference in daily farm operations,” says Anders Fogh, Deputy Head of Livestock at SEGES Innovation. With over 1.1 million cattle inseminations annually, VikingDanmark brings deep practical insight. SEGES Innovation contributes independent expertise and research. Together, we’re creating a direct line from innovation to implementation. “We hope more companies see the value in partnering with us. Together, we can build solutions that improve both animal welfare and farm performance,” says Anders Fogh. Key people in the new partnerships are Hans Peter Bay, Anders Fogh, Peter Raundal These partnerships are part of our broader strategy to work closely with organizations across the agricultural and food sectors. They’ve already inspired bold new projects – like Nature&Beef, exploring cattle breeds for year-round grazing and nature management. 📣 If your company is interested in co-creating the future of sustainable farming, let’s talk. #SEGESInnovation #VikingDanmark #Partnership #AnimalWelfare #CattleFarming #AgTech #SustainableAgriculture #InnovationInPractice Photos by VikingDanmark & SEGES Innovation

🎥 What’s really going on beneath the surface in Haderslev Fjord? In this video, our water environment researcher Flemming Gertz retrieves sensors from both the seabed and surface waters of Haderslev Fjord. These sensors, along with water samples sent for lab analysis, help us understand how nitrogen and phosphorus interact in the aquatic ecosystem. The goal? To generate valuable insights that can improve the ecological status of Haderslev Fjord — and inspire similar efforts in other Danish fjords facing oxygen depletion challenges. 🌊 Transparency matters. That’s why we share this work openly — so farmers, municipalities, utilities, advisors, and citizens can engage with the realities and development of their local water environment. At SEGES Innovation, we truly value the strong collaboration with our partners: Spiras, Haderslev Kommune, Provas Forsyningsservice, Aarhus University, Longline Environment, Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, Danmarks Naturfredningsforening, Sønderjysk Sportsfiskerforening (Angling Association) #HaderslevFjord #WaterEnvironment #TransparencyMatters #StakeholderEngagement #EnvironmentalMonitoring #DanishFjords Video production by Martin Stoltenberg Hansen

🔒 “𝗜𝘁’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲… 𝗢𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁?” This week, SEGES Innovation launches Workplace Safety Week to challenge a dangerous mindset in Danish agriculture — one where too many still think: “It’ll be fine…” Agriculture is one of the most hazardous industries in Denmark. In week 40, we’re putting the spotlight on the thousands of accidents that happen every year — and we’re teaming up with leading farming influencers to start a new safety culture. 💬 “We cannot accept that so many people — especially young ones — get hurt while doing their job. This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about people, families, and a culture we need to change,” says Christina Edstrand, Head of Occupational Health at SEGES Innovation. 🚜 Why do accidents happen? They often occur during heavy, high-risk tasks — handling large animals, operating machinery, or working under pressure with unclear procedures. When safety gear is missing or disabled, and machines are used for tasks they weren’t designed for, the risk increases dramatically. 📲 Influencers speak up: For the first time, SEGES Innovation is launching a national safety campaign in collaboration with three of Denmark’s most prominent agri-influencers: Mikkel Smedegaard, Bianca Eisenhardt, and Livet på landet. Young people are the most vulnerable group — and that’s why the campaign meets them where they are: on social media, through role models they trust. 💬 “I’ve taken chances myself. But when you hear how many accidents actually happen, it hits you. It’s time we talk openly about safety,” says Mikkel Smedegaard, farmer and influencer. 📊 The facts (2017–2024): 🔴 5,909 reported workplace accidents 🔴36 fatal accidents 🔴Over 1,900 accidents among 18–29-year-olds 🔴55+ is the second most affected age group 🔴SEGES estimates a large number of unreported incidents (Source: Danish Working Environment Authority) Let’s change the culture — together! #SafetyFirst #Agriculture #WorkplaceSafety #FarmSafety #AgInfluencers
