Online training course for informal carers: self-care and care competences for informal caregivers of older people

This traning organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and co-funded by the European Union, is intended for anyone who provides informal care to an older person and who has not received formal training in nursing or other care profession.

What is the online traning about?

In the context of a cooperation agreement supporting the implementation of the European Care Strategy, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, in close collaboration with Eurocarers, has developed an online training course titled ‘Self-care and Care Competences for Informal Caregivers of People with Care and Support Needs’.

This course is intended for anyone who provides informal care to an older person within their family or community, and who has not received formal training or education in nursing or other care professions.

The course serves as a valuable resource for non-governmental organizations, public authorities, training or education institutions, and providers of long-term care and support services. It can help these organizations develop tailored training materials, in-person workshops, or community support initiatives suited to their specific needs.

Please join us for the online launch event on 22 October 2025 at 10:45 CET.
