#GestampNews | Hydnum Steel and Gestamp sign an agreement to use clean steel produced with green hydrogen for the manufacturing of automotive components. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the decarbonization of the mobility sector. Gestamp, through Gescrap, will supply high-quality steel scrap to Hydnum Steel, which will use renewable energy and green hydrogen to produce low-CO₂ steel. This clean steel will return to Gestamp's production cycle, driving the #decarbonization of the entire value chain. What happens when the need for advanced material characterization meets the ingenuity of our #ResearchTeam? ➡️ Remarkable things happen At Gestamp, we’ve transformed a 1980s press into a state-of-the-art testing system for cold stamping simulations, based on the Nakajima test to determine the Forming Limit Curve of sheet metal. Thanks to the vision and expertise of Michael Roll, Petter Ulfberg and Stefan Golling, we developed the necessary developments in-house and integrated modern 3D optical measurement system. This project is a testament to how legacy equipment can be repurposed to meet new challenges. At Gestamp, we innovate beyond the horizon! 🚀

Yesterday, Inés Rodríguez Pariza, Circular Economy & Product LCA Expert at Gestamp, took part in the forum Sustainability in Product and Production Engineering, organized by Automotive Circle. During the event, she shared how Gestamp tracks and manages the carbon footprint of its automotive components — a key step in our journey toward the Net Zero Car.
