Cold DM an SDR sent me: ''Chris - your business is the perfect fit for our B2B lead generation tool, are you available to sync on a short 30 minute demo before the new year so you can get 2025 off to the great start''? My Response: ''No, thank you but appreciate you reaching out and doing your SDR thing. Mind if I give you some tips to help you get better responses on LinkedIn''? SDR: Yes. The Feedback: 1. Remove the ''pitch'' around my biz being the perfect fit - it's too early and not believable. 2. Instead, mention a short observation about me that you've noticed like ''you're hiring 2 SDRs''. 3. Link the observation to a problem such as ''bet your thinking about how to get the best SDRs onboard''. 4. Finish with a permission based CTA like; mind if I ask a question or 2 on that to help? 5. Don't pitch in your first message, just focus on building trust and getting permission to ask questions. 6. It could look like this... ''Hi Chris - noticed your hiring 2 SDRs. Bet you're thinking about how to get the best candidates onboard. Mind if I ask a question or 2 on that''? --- Imagine if an SDR got ONE note like this a day. People overcomplicate sales. Listen, if you’re a beginner in sales: Avoid • Overloading yourself with complex CRMs and tools. We can do that for you. • Focusing too much on perfecting your pitch. • Trying to sell to everyone instead of narrowing your audience. • Spending hours researching but not taking action. 7 things you can do today to make it HARDER for buyers to buy. 👇 Remember, it's about you and what your company want, not what they want. It's your job to control every step they take across the buyer's journey. The more you can control it, the better you can predict it. Start with: 1.) Remove pricing from your website or better...have a pricing page without pricing on it 2.) Don't let them book a demo directly with your sales team....chase them with emails and calls. 3.) Hide your product; don't let them see it; their curiosity will lead them to reach out. 4.) Pass them around like a baton...SDR > AE >...and make sure you don't share information with the AE, better to ask the same question twice. 5.) Add more form fields, rev ops said they need more data for lead routing. 6.) Spend all your money promoting gated TOFU content that is unrelated to your product. 7.) Give them TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU content in that order. I read my content from top to bottom, after all. This is the way. ;)

𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 😬 But this small change will fix that.   𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗦 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀.   ❌ They’re selling features and not benefits   Selling features only works if your prospect is already aware of your product and in buying mode.   ✅ Sell the benefits and reinforce with features   If they don’t understand the benefits, they won’t care about the features.   On a sales call today, I was explaining product features—only for the prospect to question the benefit.   That moment reinforced a critical sales lesson: sell the benefits, not the features.   Have a CRM SaaS? ✅ Benefit: Increase MRR with automated follow up ❌ Feature: Design beautiful emails with a drag and drop email builder   Have an AI SaaS? ✅ Benefit: Save 4 hours a day by automating reoccurring tasks ❌ Feature: AI meeting notes with auto generated summaries   etc…

Cold email copywriting tip: Proactively address objections. Why? When you acknowledge doubts you remove their power. It’s like you’re reading your prospect’s mind about their hesitations. How? Use words like “without” or “no.” Examples: “ACME grew to $7M ARR without hiring salespeople, cold calling, or running ads on Facebook or Google.” “Get 75 essential greens without having to eat them.” “Finish an Ironman without 16+ hours a week of training.” “Publish polished podcasts without editing.” “No subscription. Pay once.” “No stockouts.” Knowing how to read your prospect’s mind is a good skill to master.
