Why wait for the future of mobility when it's already here? MAN has been leading the zero-emission transformation for six years with its Lion’s City E battery electric bus family, designed for both urban and intercity transport. Since its market debut in 2019, nearly 3,000 eBuses have been produced, covering over 100 million km on European roads with zero local emissions. The evolution is strong: in the first half of 2025 alone, 670 eBuses were sold, making up more than half of MAN’s city bus sales in Europe. With a portfolio ranging from agile 10 metre models to 18 metre articulated buses and intercity low entry vehicles, MAN is setting new standards. Through the Lion’s Chassis E, the journey now extends beyond Europe, bringing sustainable transport to global markets. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 🚴‍♂️ In case you missed it, we shared a press release yesterday following the European Commission's progress report on the implementation of the 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴. Adopted in 2024, the Declaration is a commitment to make cycling a fully-fledged mode of transport through stronger policies, 🚦 safer infrastructure, and 💶 increased funding. What has happened so far? ✅ National and local governments are laying the groundwork with better strategies and stronger synergies. ✅ At the EU level, policies are starting to reflect the evolving cycling landscape and respond to the need for data collection. 🌍 Bridging the Gap Between Rural and Urban Mobility 🚗🤝   According to the “Mobility in Germany” study, cars typically carry just 1.1 passengers, contributing to congestion and high emissions. Rural regions, in particular, often lack alternatives to private vehicles.   The C2CBridge project explores autonomous, on-demand shuttle fleets to fill this gap -linking rural areas to cities and existing public transport networks. As a project partner, PTV brings its advanced software to the table, analyzing and validating the traffic impacts of these innovative mobility concepts.   🎥 Check out our video showcasing the software in action!

🔴 🆕 NEW ICCT study on #electrictrucks #charging infrastructure needs in the #EU 🇪🇺 Hundreds of thousands of electric trucks will roam the EU roads by 2030, and the vast majority of them will be long-distance heavy trucks 🚛 . The fleet will require an extensive network of charging infrastructure 🔌 across all EU member states. We have crunched the numbers: ➡️ The expected BET fleet in the EU-27 by 2030 will require between 22 GW and 28 GW of installed charging power capacity. This translates into 150,000–175,000 private chargers and 60,000–80,000 public chargers. ➡️ Overnight charging is expected to be the primary charging mode, while between 4,000 and 5,300 megawatt (MW) chargers are projected to be needed by 2030. Lower-power chargers, such as 350 kW chargers, can cover more than half the public fast charging needs for long-haul trucks. Together with 15 other signatories in the Network for Sustainable Mobility, the eFuel Alliance has issued a Joint Statement responding to the European Commission’s Call for Evidence on revising CO₂ emission standards for new cars and vans. The revision of the CO₂ emission performance standards for light-duty vehicles is an opportunity to reassess the sector’s decarbonisation pathway and ensure all sustainable, GHG-reducing solutions -such as #eFuels- are recognised and allowed to fairly contribute to #decarbonisation efforts. We call for a framework that is technology-neutral and consistent across EU law. In particular, the impact assessment should model the benefits of: ✅ A technology-neutral definition of CO₂-neutral fuels, based on the Renewable Energy Directive ((EU) 2023/2413), applied in both light- and heavy-duty standards. ✅ A Carbon Correction Factor (#CCF) to reflect the growing share of CO₂-neutral fuels on the market. ✅ A new vehicle category powered exclusively by CO₂-neutral fuels, leveraging all potential monitoring methodologies. #SustainableFuels remain complementary to #electrification. Recognising them would create investment certainty along the value chain and speed up the scale-up of net-zero solutions.
