Open competition EPSO/AD/404/23 is aimed at constituting a reserve list of English-language lawyer-linguists who have a perfect command of English — the language of their legal studies and/or qualification, and an adequate knowledge of the national law, legal system and legal terminology in English of one of the English-speaking EU Member States or former Member States with an English-language legal system.

To ensure that these needs of the service are adequately met, the eligibility conditions of open competition EPSO/AD/404/23 must cover potential candidates with law degrees and/or qualifications from all the national legal systems fitting the criteria listed above.

For these reasons, the notice of open competitions referred to in the title shall be amended as follows:

1.

On page 1:

for:

‘ Deadline for application: 17 October 2023 at 12:00 (midday), Luxembourg time ’,

read:

‘ Deadline for application: 24 October 2023 at 12:00 (midday), Luxembourg time ’.

2.

On page 3, Section 3.3.1:

for:

‘3.3.1. EPSO/AD/404/23 — English-language lawyer-linguists

To be eligible for competition EPSO/AD/404/23, a candidate must have a level of education corresponding to completed university studies attested by one of the following qualifications: a degree in law or its equivalent awarded in the Republic of Ireland or a qualification as a barrister or solicitor in the Republic of Ireland.’,

read:

‘3.3.1. EPSO/AD/404/23 — English-language lawyer-linguists

To be eligible for competition EPSO/AD/404/23, a candidate must meet the requirements listed in one of the following points:

(a)

Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a degree in law or its equivalent awarded in the Republic of Ireland or have a qualification as a barrister or solicitor awarded in the Republic of Ireland;

(b)

Have obtained the academic degree in law in accordance with the provisions of the Statute of the University of Malta;

(c)

Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a degree in law or its equivalent awarded in the United Kingdom or have a qualification as a barrister or solicitor awarded in the United Kingdom, provided that the degree or the qualification were obtained before 31 December 2020.’.

3.

On page 5:

for:

‘ The candidates must apply online on the EPSO website  (2) by

17 October 2023 at 12:00 (midday), Luxembourg time.

read:

‘ The candidates must apply online on the EPSO website  (2) by

24 October 2023 at 12:00 (midday), Luxembourg time.
