🌍 ONE trusted certification platform for the world’s carbon removers We are integrating CCS+ initiative CDR methodology framework into Puro.earth certification and registry infrastructure. This means suppliers will be able to certify and issue Puro Standard CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) or credits based on the CCS+ Initiative methodology - all within one trusted system supported by the Puro Registry and MyPuro 2.0 certification platform. This integration supports the scale-up of Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) and Direct Air Capture with Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS) projects. It removes duplication, simplifies certification, and future-proof projects for evolving voluntary and compliance markets. Buyers benefit too. Our partner Altitude has secured an additional 120,000 tonnes of CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) from biochar-based carbon removal facilities across West Africa, verified through the Puro.earth Registry. This new offtake builds on Altitude’s earlier 25,000t purchase, bringing their total CORC commitment in the region to nearly 150,000 tonnes. Last week, Puro.earth had the privilege of joining the Alt Futures Conference in Bengaluru, hosted by Alt Carbon. During the conference and field visits, we shared Puro.earth's perspective on building a trusted, commoditized market for carbon removal and the certification journey that enables suppliers and buyers to scale with confidence. Highlights included: 🔹Co-hosting a small dinner with Alt Carbon and market participants to kick off the summit 🔹A Puro.earth workshop with 150+ participants, where @Antti Vihavainen spoke on market development and Alvin Lee outlined the certification process 🔹Alvin Lee leading a high-quality panel with CUR8, HSBC and Hexa Climate Climate on climate finance pathways for suppliers 🔹Antti Vihavainen discussing India’s rapid rise as a global leader in carbon removal during a panel on Article 6 #AltFutures2025 The conference was followed by a site visit to Darjeeling, where we saw enhanced rock weathering (ERW) in practice, joined local farmers in tea estates to understand land use, and inaugurated Alt Carbon’s new biochar facility and laboratory where Antti joined Mitsu OSK Lines in cutting the ribbon. It was a powerful reminder of how innovation, science and community come together to deliver climate impact.
