✨ Here’s the thing about ecosystems: they only thrive as a whole. 🌍 And the same is true for us. At Danone Ecosystem, we believe real impact is created through collaboration. That’s why we’ve been building partnerships across local communities, empowering people and co-creating long lasting solutions. As we step into September, we’re sharing our “Who We Are” video. It’s a chance to (re)discover what we do and how we do it. Together, with 92+ partners, we’ve co-created over 100 projects, supporting smallholder farmers, waste pickers, healthcare workers, and local changemakers,.🌱Each has been an opportunity to learn, adapt and build our expertise. Together, we are in a continuous learning path to address specific challenges in regenerative agriculture, watershed protection and inclusive plastic collection, while building resilient care systems and promoting healthy habits at key life stages. Few months ago, Danone Group further accelerated our efforts by contributing €50 million euros reinforcing its willingness to impact. Because nothing—whether it’s birds, bees, or businesses—can thrive unless its ecosystem is healthy. 🐝 #DanoneEcosystem #SustainableFoodSystems #Impact

💧🌍 As we celebrate #WorldWaterWeek 2025 under the theme “Water for Climate Action”, we are happy to share how local action in Indonesia is helping protect water resources and support the communities who depend on them. In Bali, the Ayung Watershed, the island’s largest water source, is under growing pressure from tourism-driven extraction and upstream land-use changes, leading to water scarcity and even seawater intrusion in some areas. That’s why, together with Kopernik, Danone Aqua, local governments, and communities, the Bali Watershed Project is piloting nature-based solutions such as infiltration wells and regenerative agroforestry, through a community-based, multi-stakeholder approach. To date: ✅ 20 infiltration wells have been drilled, that can replenish up to 7.8 million liters of water/year with the PES Scheme in place ✅ 40 farmers are being engaged in regenerative agroforestry across 35 hectares ✅ Over 17,000 orange and coffee trees have been planted, seeking to reduce chemical use and increase crop density and diversity biodiversity These efforts show how collaboration with communities, NGOs, and governments can help build resilience against water scarcity, protect biodiversity, and strengthen livelihoods. 💡 What other local initiatives inspire you in building water resilience? #WorldWaterWeek #WaterForClimateAction #WatershedProtection

🎖️ We are thrilled to announce that the SAMAS program in Romania has won the ARBORUS GEEIS Trophy 2025 for its long-term impact on maternal and infant health, and the professional empowerment of women in the healthcare sector. Developed in response to critical maternal and infant health challenges in Romania, SAMAS has grown into an independent and self-sustaining NGO, the first and only national network of perinatal educators, that promotes breastfeeding, strengthens perinatal care, and supports health professionals, most of whom are women. 👩⚕️ Since its launch in 2013: • 2,460 nurses and midwives have been trained and certified as perinatal educators • Exclusive breastfeeding rates during the first six months increased from 12.6% in 2011 to 29.8% in 2016. • 69% of Romanian mothers have been reached through education, guidance and public health campaigns 🤝 A big thank you to our partners who made this possible: Asociatia SAMAS - SAnatate pentru MAme si Sugari, Fundatia Crucea Alba, Crucea Rosie Romana, Nutricia, IOMC and the Romanian Ministry of Health. #MaternalHealth #SocialImpact #ArborusAward #GenderEquality

🌱 What changes when a smallholder farmer adopts a biodigester? For many smallholder farmers, biodigesters offer a practical way to manage waste more safely, reduce pollution, and produce clean energy directly on the farm.  👉Swipe through our carrousel to explore how biodigesters can make a difference in daily farming practices: 🔸 Before Biodigesting: •Greenhouse gas emissions and strong odors •Higher risk of bacteria-related diseases within the herd •Water and soil pollution 🚜 After adopting biodigesters ➡️Transformation of animal manure into biogas and biofertilizer production: •Reduction of odors •Production of affordable renewable energy •Improved farm cleanliness, reducing contamination risks for cow. •Protection of soils and water resources💧. 👀 Want to dive deeper? Click here to read our full article on Biodigesters:🔗 https://lnkd.in/ehz-evGT 🤝 Thank you to our partners on their collaboration for writing this article: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, Sistema Biobolsa / Sistema.bio, Bertrand Guérin (VP of AAMF - Association des Agriculteurs Méthaniseurs de France) , and the Energy Assistance France. #Biodigester #SustainableFarming #SmallholderFarmers #CleanEnergy

🌿 How can organic waste become an opportunity for smallholder farmers while protecting nature and local livelihoods? At Danone Ecosystem, we’re exploring biodigesters as a promising and practical solution for smallholder farmers. One that helps preserve our environment and support farming communities around the world. 🔍 In our latest article, we take a closer look at: • What biodigesters are and how they work • Their key environmental, social, and health benefits • How to mitigate risks and run biodigesters efficiently • Why some biogas projects fail and how to build on learnings 🌱One example comes from Indonesia, where, as part of the Farming Resilience Enhancement for Sustainable Husbandry (FRESH) project, we supported the installation of biodigesters with the objective of helping farmers better manage livestock effluents. 💡 This article is part of our ongoing effort to share knowledge and open dialogue around scalable, inclusive innovations for rural development. 👀 Read the full article to discover more. 🤝This article was co-written in collaboration with our partners: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, Sistema Biobolsa / Sistema.bio, Bertrand Guérin (VP of AAMF - Association des Agriculteurs Méthaniseurs de France) and Energy Assistance France. #Biodigester #SmallholderFarmers #SustainableAgriculture #Biogas

🌿This #BiodiversityDay, we celebrate the systems that make life and food possible. Biodiversity supports life on Earth by enabling vital services like soil formation, freshwater supply 💧, food and materials provisioning, and climate regulation. It’s our natural patrimony, yet it’s under pressure. With a 7.5 % decrease in the Living Planet Index (1970 – 2016), along with rising extinction risks and forest loss, we are reminded of the need for global action. 🌾 Biodiversity and agriculture are deeply interconnected. Biodiverse ecosystems support farming by maintaining soil health, providing pollinators 🐝, controlling pests, and building resilience to climate shocks 🌦️. At the same time, intensive agricultural practices (monocultures, excessive tillage, and agrochemical use) can erode the very ecosystem it depends on. 🌍 So how can we act? At Danone Ecosystem, we co-finance projects worldwide to support farmers in adopting sustainable practices: 🇮🇩 Rejoso Kita (Indonesia) – Preserving watersheds through sustainable farming 🇲🇽 Madre Tierra (Mexico) – Enabling regenerative, high-quality production 🇫🇷 Pachamama (France) – Supporting farmers in their agroecological transition 🌱 Because resilient crops, fertile soils, and sustainable food systems all begin with healthy ecosystems. 🤝Together with our committed partners, we're making this journey possible: CIFOR-ICRAF, EIT Food, Pour une Agriculture du Vivant, Nuup, BIOSPHERES, APEXAGRI, Association Française d'Agroforesterie, Institut de l'Elevage (idele), Noé 👉Click here to explore our infographic: https://lnkd.in/eqKTh2iK #BiodiversityDay #FoodSystems #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableDevelopment
