This week started with an announcement from President von der Leyen on a 15% single US tariff rate ‘for the vast majority of EU exports.’ While the initial announcement by US President Trump was 30%, the current deal left many wary. Only 13.5% of EU enterprises adopted AI in 2024, reports Eurostat. For SMEs, the road to AI remains steep with limited skills, resources and high costs standing in the way. ❕ Yet AI shouldn't be out of reach. While technical expertise is needed to build AI, professionals from diverse backgrounds should be able to deploy and benefit from it. That’s exactly what the AISME project is tackling. Only 1 in every 10 euros of global investment in the industry reaches European firms, according to the European Commission. This year’s theme, “The Augmented factory and its enabling technologies”, focused on how AI, robotics and digital solutions are driving transformation in the manufacturing sector.   The event featured: 🌍 7 European countries represented 🚀 33 startups and corporations 🗨️ 18 startup pitches ✍ 3 thematic sessions 🤝 114 B2B meetings   Access2Tech provides a platform for European startups to showcase advanced technologies and connect with corporates and SMEs for potential partnerships, pilot projects and co-funded R&D initiatives. It supports the broader goal of fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration across Europe’s industrial landscape.
