    Gama. Making Space sustainable.

🌍 Space has no borders, yet until now it’s been governed by a patchwork of national rules that hew closely to Earth’s political map. Why? A nation bears liability for third-party damage from satellites or launches tied to its territory, so every country has acted independently in part to limit its exposure. But space is evolving fast. With over 11 000 satellites already in orbit and tens of thousands more on the way, and more than 128 million pieces of debris already clutering this valuable shared resource, Europe could benefit from a unified highway code. The EU Space Act aims to: ✅ Create a single EU market for space services, cutting red tape, lowering costs, and boosting competitiveness 🛰️ Improve object tracking, mandate deorbit/disposal, and sharply reduce debris 🛡️ Enforce cyber resilience and risk assessment to secure satellites & ground systems 🌱 Demand environmental accountability, measuring CO₂, debris, reflectivity, with incentives for in‑orbit servicing Europe gets a lot of stick for wanting to regulate things, but a harmonised rule book intuitively makes sense, and is in line with efforts in the US, India, China and other geographies to keep Space sustainable for future generations. Still, the fine print and implementation matters, and the proposal now goes to Parliament and Council. Expect spirited debate from industry, ESA, Member States and beyond. For the Gama team, this marks an extraordinary moment where we can play a pivotal role in making compliance easy for satellite operators, and playing our part in keeping Space accessible and valuable to humanity. We’ll be watching every twist of the negotiations. #SpaceLaw #EU #STM #Sustainability #SpaceTech European Commission

We are bringing the first EU Space Act to the launchpad. 🚀     We are proposing new rules to keep our astronauts and satellites safe, to make our skies more secure, and to strengthen our space industry.      With the new Space Act, we aim to:    🔹 Improve trackability of space objects and reduce generation of space debris  🔸 Offer robust safeguards for safe and sustainable missions  🔹 Deliver cyber resilience for space infrastructure  🔸 Ensure environmental accountability for a cleaner orbital future    This is about securing Europe’s place in the next era of space innovation. For all citizens and businesses to benefit.    Europe is reaching for the space – faster, smarter, greener. Ready to define what’s next.    Here’s how 👉 https://europa.eu/!xFNj3n

    • A starry background with yellow text and the EU Commissions logo in the top right corner. The text reads: "Episode 1. A NEW EU SPACE ERA BEGINS. Space is booming, satellites multiply. Europe unites to lead, creating a single market that works for all. Track debris. Protect infrastructure. Keep space sustainable for generations. From start-ups to giants, all shall thrive. Safer space. Stronger Europe. Shared future."

🌍🚀 Why Space Sustainability Can’t Wait Every second, our planet’s orbit becomes more crowded and chaotic. According to the 𝐸𝑆𝐴 𝑆𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝐸𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑅𝑒𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡 👉https://lnkd.in/edW9hPyZ, over 36,000 tracked debris objects are currently orbiting Earth and that’s just the visible part of the problem. At GAMA, we believe the future of space exploration must be sustainable by design, not by correction. Our drag sail ASTROBRAKE, helps actively deorbit satellites at the end of their mission life, reducing long-term collision risk and protecting orbital assets. The cost of inaction? ❌ Fewer opportunities to launch and operate future satellite services ❌ Threats to active satellites and human spaceflight ❌ A blocked path to deep space missions and innovation As a space tech startup, we are proud to be part of the solution, not the problem. We encourage all stakeholders from manufacturers to policymakers to embrace a culture of responsible innovation. 🛰️ Let’s make space safe and sustainable ! 👉Reach out if you want to make your spacecraft futureproof for upcoming end-of-life regulations. We’re here to help you comply, deploy, and deorbit responsibly. 🛰️ Curious about what's really cluttering Earth's orbit? Check out our latest blog post where we break down space debris: what it is, why it matters, and what we’re doing about it 🚀 👉 https://lnkd.in/dykrw64a #SpaceDebris #Sustainability #SpaceSafety #GAMA #NewSpace #OrbitalCleanup #Astrobrake #ESA #SpaceInnovation #SustainableSpace

🚀 Big week at the International Paris Air Show 2025! This week, our CEO Andrew Nutter took the stage at a special spacetech and investor event during the International Paris Air Show to present our company’s vision for large scale infrastructure in space, and the solutions we’re developing to shape the future of sustainable space using drag sails 🛰️ The recent news that European Space tech in 2024 received a massive 56% more funding than in 2023 was not a surprise to anyone in the room, given the quality of the companies pitching, the growing Space economy, and the interest from generalist investors to deploy more into the Space sector. 🤝 It was a pleasure to engage with industry decision makers, partners, and passionate innovators ! Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and expressed their support for our journey. We’re just getting started ! 🌍🛰️ 👏 Many thanks to the organising team for this evening ! Centre National d'Études Spatiales, European Space Agency - ESA, Aerospace Angels, and SpaceLy And a big shoutout to: Jean-marc ASTORG, Geraldine Naja, Kazuo Takubo, Jonathan Hung, Olivier DUBOIS, Jean DUBRUEL, Sabrina Mancini, Gianluigi Baldesi, and Véronique De La Casa ! #ParisAirShow #SalonDuBourget #NewSpace #SpaceTech #Innovation #Sustainability #SpaceSolutions #Leadership #Collaboration #AndrewNutter #FutureOfSpace
