À propos
NEA membership consists of 34 countries representing 82% of the world's installed nuclear electricity generating capacity. The mission of the NEA is to assist its member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It strives to provide authoritative assessments and to forge common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear energy policy and to broader OECD analyses in areas such as energy and the sustainable development of low-carbon economies. The information, data and analyses it provides draw on one of the best international networks of technical experts.

The 2025 Symposium on Information, Data and Knowledge Management (IDKM) for Radioactive Waste: Challenges Across All Timescales 📁, hosted locally by 原子力発電環境整備機構 Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan (NUMO), is happening this week. The operational period of nuclear power plants can span decades, while disposal facilities are designed to operate for even longer. This raises some key challenges, as these timescales span multiple generations of workers and are likely to see many changes in policy and technology. 👷 Bringing together experts, policy and decision makers, and key stakeholders, the 2025 NEA Symposium on IDKM explores the role of evolving technologies and #AI in IDKM for radioactive waste management, the digital safety case, archiving strategies, knowledge management, strategic foresight, and building a holistic vision for the future.
