Neutral atoms trapped in optical tweezers and addressed with laser beams are ideal indistinguishable quantum systems to realize superposition and entanglement, at the heart of powerful Quantum Information Processing. It is a highly scalable platform, benefiting from tens of years of development which has brought some of contemporary physics' most spectacular achievements: Bose-Einstein condensation, cavity quantum electrodynamics, etc... We develop the lasers, the vacuum technology, the electronic controls and the software stack to make the individual atoms accessible to quantum programmers worldwide.

Charting the next phase in the Race to Quantum Advantage 🌕 Defining the finish line is as important as building the rocket. Together with IBM Quantum, Pasqal has developed a new, operational framework that sets a rigorous foundation for what trustworthy quantum advantage truly means. Under this framework, a quantum computer must meet two essential conditions: 1️⃣ Its results must be rigorously verifiable – through classical validation or careful characterisation of the QPU noise. 2️⃣ It must demonstrate a quantifiable performance gap over classical methods, in speed, cost, energy efficiency, or accuracy: what we call a quantum separation. This isn’t just a theory. It’s a call to make claims measurable, reproducible, and meaningful — proof that advantage is not declared, but it’s earned. These criteria set boundaries that clarify where quantum advantage is within reach—starting with simulations of quantum materials using more than 250 qubits, targeting regimes beyond classical capabilities.
