Building a quantum computer using proven semiconductor processes for a better digital future.
À propos
Quobly is a pioneer in the development of a fault-tolerant quantum computer based on semiconductor qubits. With a breakthrough method, Quobly addresses both techno-scientific challenges as well as industrial production, paving the way for mass production of the millions of qubits essential for practical, large-scale quantum computers. Based in Grenoble, the startup is the result of 15 years of collaborative research between internationally recognized RTOs, CEA Leti and CNRS. Founded in 2022, Quobly has brought together a team of experts from the semiconductor industry and distinguished researchers in quantum technologies. In 2023, Quobly made headlines with a seed round of 19 million euros, establishing a new record for seed funding of a European startup in the quantum sector. Today, Quobly employs +70 people.

In quantum computing, progress is often framed around qubit numbers, yet that metric tells only part of the story. After more than 20 years in quantum physics research, I’m convinced that the future won’t be decided by who has the most qubits, nor by connectivity or qubit quality alone, but by who can manufacture them at scale. Scalability will ultimately depend on something less visible, yet far more decisive: industrial manufacturability. The real challenge is not to perfect isolated qubits under ideal lab conditions, but to replicate millions of them reliably, with high yield, integrated control, and manufacturable architectures. That is the perspective I brought when co-founding Quobly, where physicists and semiconductor engineers work hand in hand to turn quantum devices into something the industry can truly build. We develop silicon spin qubits using FD-SOI CMOS processes on 300 mm wafers, leveraging decades of semiconductor expertise rather than reinventing the industrial wheel. Quantum computing is, and must remain, a multidisciplinary field, where physics and engineering meet. The future of quantum will be decided in fabs, not only in labs. #quantumcomputing https://lnkd.in/eRCwhMHp

🇪🇺 🇫🇷 🇱🇺 European Quantum Computing: a strategic convergence in Luxembourg! Meeting at the Residence de France with Ambassador Christophe Bouchard. I had the honor of presenting the progress of Quobly: quantum computers based on silicon spin qubits, multicore architecture, integrated cryoelectronics. Great also to share common interests with expert teams in Luxembourg as Quantum computing is emerging as a key element in Luxembourg’s digital transformation. Luxembourg has been selected by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) to host a semiconductor-based QPU at its high-performance computing center, Meluxina. Research is highly active, with experimental and theoretical work underway at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the University of Luxembourg. The quantum community in Luxembourg is organizing itself around the Quantum Shift Breakfasts initiated by Serge Borg. Quobly’s ambition is to ignite the quantum revolution and lead its industrial deployment. Together with Luxembourg, we aim at co-developing this transformation. ✅ We design and manufacture silicon spin qubit chips with millions of qubits, enabling real-world, large-scale applications: drug and catalyst discovery, energy grid optimization, and AI acceleration integrated into HPC environments. ✅ Luxembourg brings deep expertise in #HPC integration, industrial use cases, fundamental research, and quantum information talent. 🇪🇺 Europe is asserting its leadership in silicon-based quantum technologies. Quantum computing is becoming a strategic pillar of European digital #sovereignty. Many thanks to the Ambassade de France au Luxembourg, especially Thomas LOCATELLI, for their support. #QuantumComputing #Innovation #Europe Jean-Noël Barrot, Présidence de la République, Loïc Le Loarer

🎓 “Décantons le Quantique” - Université Lyon 1, France. Invited by ADIRA, our Project Manager Aisling Johnson joined the round table “Paroles d’industriels de l’informatique quantique” alongside Jean Senellart (Quandela). The discussion explored technological foundations, key challenges, and the growing momentum of the French quantum ecosystem, showing how industrial players are shaping the path toward scalable quantum computers. The second round table, dedicated to use cases, featured our partner BGene and its CEO Marie-Gabrielle Jouan, who shared valuable insights from the biotech sector. This collaboration perfectly illustrates how joint efforts between technology developers and end-users can turn quantum potential into tangible and sustainable innovation. At Quobly, we are building a strong, connected quantum ecosystem, from technology providers to end-users, while rapidly advancing applications and use cases through strategic partnerships and our new and dedicated Applications Department. We are always open to conversations with end-users. 💡 Share your challenges with us, they are the starting point for building relevant quantum solutions. #QuantumComputing #Innovation

Home to the 7th largest tech hub in the world, and a place where tech sovereignty is being built. Yes, this is Grenoble Alpes, the French Silicon Valley. On September 30th, Quobly, represented by François H., had the opportunity to take part in a roundtable discussion on how Grenoble is driving technological sovereignty through the strength of its research and industrial ecosystem. Quobly is proud to be part of this ecosystem that enables what very few can achieve: ➡️ Moving directly from research to industry to build QPUs. This is only possible because of the trust-based relationships forged over time between researchers, industry, and institutions. 🔬 Cutting-edge research at CEA-Leti, CNRS, and Université Grenoble Alpes 🏭 The rare presence of a local foundry for real hardware prototyping 🤝 A long-standing collaboration model that accelerates tech transfer 🚀 And a dynamic startup community supported by serious investors and public partners Grenoble is also a key factor in how we attract and retain top talent. It’s a win-win: We gain speed and clarity in a complex, emerging market and our partners benefit from bold industrial use cases and long-term collaboration.
