Today, Minister Xavier Bettel received the Ambassador of #Japan to #Luxembourg, Tadahiro Matsubara, for his farewell audience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Relations between Japan and Luxembourg were marked by this year’s #Expo2025 in Osaka, visits by the grand-ducal family and several trade missions. Both countries are preparing to celebrate the centenary of their diplomatic relations in 2027.

[EN] As part of the Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator Pitch Event, held during #LUVentureDays, Luxembourg’s Development Cooperation celebrated the first anniversary of the Strategic Partnership on Artificial Intelligence in Humanitarian Action, launched last year together with the WFP Innovation Accelerator, CERN, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). This partnership harnesses artificial intelligence to accelerate humanitarian impact, combining scientific research, operational reach, and policy leadership to deliver innovative solutions for people in need. As early results and lessons learned begin to emerge, we look forward to continuing this collaboration and further exploring the potential of AI for humanitarian action. [EN] Last week, Luxembourg had the pleasure of welcoming eight groundbreaking ventures as part of the Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator, led by the WFP Innovation Accelerator. Over three days — the Luxembourg Humanitarian Days — the ventures connected with and learned from Luxembourg’s humanitarian and innovation ecosystem, including the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). The week culminated in the Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator Pitch Event on 22 October, held as part of #LUVentureDays.
