About us
Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) is a non-profit organization that invests in young entrepreneurs and small businesses. We empower entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into viable, self-sustaining businesses and we work alongside promising small businesses to help them scale and reach their full potential. At KIC, we are committed to increasing awareness of agricultural opportunities and the associated entrepreneurial benefits for the youth. To achieve this, we have rolled out a series of programs and projects to reach and support them at each level of their growth. The KIC projects are structured to provide support to youth, ranging from high school students to medium-scale business owners. Since our inception in 2016, more than 18,000 young leaders have been trained in business skills and entrepreneurship through participation in our programs. Kosmos Innovation Center is an independent organization, and its policies, operations, and program decisions are determined by its own Board of Directors and senior leadership team.

It’s always refreshing to be part of spaces that remind you why you do what you do. Last Friday, I had the pleasure of seeing an idea for a Market Access Webinar Series come to life. This was co-created with Joseph Boateng, Lead for Access to Market at the Mastercard Foundation (Ghana) and the Alumni Committee/Youth Advisory Council. Together, we hosted a robust conversation on one of the toughest challenges young entrepreneurs in Ghana face - accessing sustainable markets by having market-ready products. Joined by brilliant minds like Benjamin Gyan-Kesse of the Kosmos Innovation Center Ghana, Abdul Latif Ibn Mohammed of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, and a young entrepreneur, Yvonne Nuoriyee, Founder of Edible Treats, the maiden session dived deep into what it truly means to be market-ready and trust me, i realized that to succeed in the ever-evolving marketplace of products was more than just having a great idea. The session discussed practical steps such as: * Doing real market research to uncover genuine customer needs, * Building and testing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that actually solve problems, * Getting honest feedback (yes, beyond family and friends!), * Keeping proper records and tracking progress for accountability. What stood out most for me were the stories and products of young entrepreneurs who listened, learned, and refined their ideas until they became sustainable ventures. Seeing how resilience and feedback can transform ideas into impact was inspiring. At the heart of it all was a simple truth: Entrepreneurship is not a race to success but a journey of learning, adapting, and building sustainably. A huge appreciation to Gottfried Odamtten-Sowah, Head of Entrepreneurship Development, Mastercard Foundation (Ghana), who leads a team committed to constantly creating spaces that help young people turn potential into progress. He opened the session, noting that the webinar aimed to equip young entrepreneurs with the right skills and knowledge to create dignified and fulfilling work opportunities. I also extend a hearty appreciation to Christabel Odonkor, who moderated the session brilliantly and steered an insightful and informative conversation.
