Too big size for empty APK (engine disk footprint size)

Hey there
I ran flutter create project and release the Android-release apk.
the size of app apk was about 7 mb !!!!!!!

it's really big size for an empty application!

I was "vb" programmer before and working on b4a ; Now i'm about to switch to another language that i found Flutter so interesting.
but after my first build in compare to b4a apk files are so heavy .
There i could get 1mb at maximum size on a light apk file like this one.

Not sure we'll ever be able to get down to 1MB but I do agree that we will need to get smaller!

I created a simple app with sqlite and sharedprefs and I am at 100 mb already..

That seems significantly larger than we can expect, beyond the issue described in this bug. Can you file a separate bug for that and list the contents of the 100MB APK with sizes so we can see the cause? Thanks.

i have simple app 3 page with button(next/back) for move to another page and back size is 101mb

@adaamohi that's only for debug builds. If you want to evaluate size, create a release build flutter build apk --release
