
Having imported an American version of Halloween, Iceland has now imported actual bloodsuckers, as documented by Matthías Alfreðsson, an entomologist at the Institute of Natural History.
Per RÚV, for the first time in the history of Iceland, mosquitoes were found, in the Kjós region of the Capital Area. The bad news continues, as the specific species of mosquito located, Culiseta Annulata, is cold-resistant, meaning mosquitoes may now be in Iceland to stay.
