“Is your thinking creating falsehoods about your experience, or are you seeing things as they truly are?” Last Thursday, our London team kicked off the first session of the four-part Make Your Mark series with the brilliant Susan Room, PCC, MFA, FRSA. The first session focused on Susan guiding participants to “find their inner coach” equipping them with the self-awareness, confidence and communication tools needed to thrive both personally and professionally. Susan introduced the concept of our inner critic and inner coach, the two voices that influence how we think, speak and act. Through reflective exercises, she encouraged participants to recognise that they have a choice: who do you listen to, your critic or your coach? The session inspired deep self-reflection, helping attendees identify personal triggers and develop strategies to challenge their internal critic, from rationalising and reframing negative thoughts to exploring their origins. It was an insightful and energising start to the series, with attendees leaving inspired and eager for what’s to come, as always we’d love to thank Susan for her time!
