From Vision to Action: IPPIN (CSIRO) Explores How Reuse Works at Alner There’s always a special kind of energy when people passionate about circular solutions come together, and today was no exception! Alner had the joy of welcoming 30 participants from the Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network (IPPIN) for a Reuse Tour, continuing our shared mission to make reuse mainstream in Indonesia. We were joined by representatives from Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional RI (BRIN RI) , Indonesia National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP), and inspiring sustainability startups such as Rebricks, Recycling Village, Daurulang.id, CONTAINDER INDONESIA, Refilin, Parongpong Recycle And Waste Lab, IZIFILL, Welove4Earth, Dit Reveille, Bintang Sejahtera, and Bungkus. All driven by the same vision of reducing single-use waste through innovation and collaboration. The day started with warm opening remarks from IPPIN’s Program Director- Andrea Sosa Pantos, Program Manager at Enviu - Eline Leising, and Alner’s CFO, - Andi N. followed by a full Reuse Tour through our facilities, from packaging digital tracking, to washing, sterilization, wastewater treatment, and our real-time refill system in action. Participants also joined a sharing session led by Fajar Hidayat (Marketing) and Andi N. (Finance), where they learned how Alner has grown a reuse-based business serving over 7,000 customers with a remarkable 88% packaging return rate. “Alner has a transparent and traceable system for its packaging, it’s impressive to see how every step, from collection to reuse, is monitored in detail,” — Andrea Sosa Pantos, Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network (IPPIN) The visit wrapped up with a zero-waste lunch from Alner Food, served in reusable packaging that participants could return right away, a small but powerful example of how everyday actions can eliminate single-use waste. We’re truly grateful to IPPIN and all participants for spending the day with us, sharing ideas, and witnessing how reuse works in real life. Alner is always excited to open our doors and show that reuse isn’t just possible, it’s already happening. We believe collaboration is the key to making reuse the new normal. So, if you’re a brand, organization, or community eager to explore how reuse can work for you, let’s collaborate and make it happen together. • Beyond Recycling: What Circular Economy Really Means For decades, recycling has been seen as the ultimate solution to our waste problem. But in reality, it only touches the surface and often gives us the illusion of responsibility while the system underneath remains broken. Most plastic waste still ends up in landfills or incinerators. Recycling alone doesn’t solve the root cause. It’s time to move beyond waste management and start redesigning the system itself. That’s why we are hosting this session at Alner Academy to help individuals, businesses, and policymakers understand how reuse, refill, and EPR can create a truly circular and sustainable system. What You’ll Learn: 1. Why recycling isn’t enough and how to redesign the system, not just manage waste. 2. The short loop concept, how reuse & refill retain more value and reduce emissions. 3. The human side of circularity from daily habits to local community action. 4. How startups & brands can build profitable circular business models. 5. The role of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in driving real change. 6. Case study: How Alner’s refill system works in practice from small shops to manufacturers. Speaker: Bintang Ekananda, founder & CEO of Alner , Lecturer in Environmental Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. 📅 Friday, October 31, 2025 | 7:30 – 9:00 PM (WIB) 📍 Online via Google Meet 💰 Early Bird: Rp49,000 (until October 22, 2025) 🎁 Includes shopping voucher & special gifts 🔗 Register at bit.ly/webinar-alner Register now! Because the circular economy isn't about fixing waste, it’s about designing a system that doesn’t create it in the first place. #Alner #BetterReuse

When Mindful Living Meets Convenience At Alner , our mission has always been simple, to make reusable shopping practical for everyone. And few stories show that better than Rindangi Putri, a loyal user from Bekasi who’s been with us since 2022. Driven by a desire to live mindfully, Rindangi discovered Alner through Instagram and found everything she needed, from dish soap and pantry staples to her personal favorites KindFoam detergent sheets and Himalayan salt. Alner developed its full-featured app, so did her experience: “Shopping has become faster and easier with the search feature. Order tracking is now much more transparent, returning the packaging is easy, and I love that the cashback can still be used for my next purchase.”, Rindangi Putri. As a working professional and mother, she values the speed, ease, and eco-benefits that Alner bring, helping her reduce single-use plastic waste at home while supporting a system that rewards sustainable behavior. Her story reminds us that small, consistent actions can create real impact, and we’re proud to grow alongside users like her. 💚 Download Alner App on Play Store or App Store or collaborate with us to expand the reuse movement across Indonesia. We love seeing more people embrace #reuse again. Every day, we at Alner deliver groceries to our consumers’ doorsteps, collect our empty containers, then wash, refill, and send them back into use. Reuse isn’t new, we just forgot it. Each time we clean and refill a bottle, one piece of packaging waste is truly avoided. Recycling and waste-to-energy still matter, but they need fire. They burn stuffs. While #reuse.. only needs soap.

Have you visited INACRAFT 2025 at Jakarta Convention Center last week? We were there together with PT YAGI Natural Indonesia, showing how we can make reuse a reality. In this event, we introduced Yagi’s natural shampoo and soap in reusable packaging, and KindFoam Detergent Sheets powered by Alner ’s reuse system. Visitors got to experience firsthand what sustainable living looks like when design, behavior, and purpose come together. What we found interesting was that most visitors who stopped by were new to the idea of sustainable living and reuse. And that’s where our role truly came in, not just to sell products, but to start conversations and share why environmental pollution, especially from non-eco-friendly materials and single-use packaging, matters to all of us. Over just four days, we collected over 500 single-use packages from becoming new waste. This is what a circular Indonesia looks like in action: collective, practical, and proudly local. Thank you to everyone who supported and visited our booth, let’s keep avoid single use packaging! #Alner #BetterReuse #Inacraft2025 #YagoForest #EconomyCircular #Reuse Bintang Ekananda | Fajar Hidayat | Zana Aprillia | Vika Widya Alfianti | Nabila Aulia Putri

  • Reuse will never become mainstream if it relies only on individuals. Systemic change happens when communities move together. Last week, Alner partnered with Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah Bekasi, part of one of Indonesia’s largest socio-religious organizations with millions of members. From 30+ participants, 25% have now become MitraAlnerr (Alner Partners), waste banks, MSMEs, and warungs who are building reuse-based businesses with us. As Mitra Alner, they don’t just adopt reuse practices. They gain new income opportunities and access to Alner’s reuse distribution system, while also becoming frontliners who spread reuse culture directly to their communities. By doing so, they help reduce single-use plastics at scale, 55,000+ impact points or single-use packages successfully avoided, while also strengthening local economies. This is just the beginning. With more national-scale communities joining, the impact can grow exponentially. If your organization or community is ready to accelerate the transition to a reuse future, let’s connect.
