🚛 Inclusion and Safety Can Go Hand in Hand in Transport & Logistics ♿ Exciting update from the Disabled People Inclusion and Training in Transport and Logistics (DiTL) ERASMUS+ project! We've just released the comparative analysis on how aptitude requirements in transport and logistics impact the inclusion of people with disabilities. 🌍 The findings reveal: A fragmented European landscape in disability recognition and employment support. Persistent employment gaps (e.g., 17.7% unemployment for young disabled adults vs. 8.6% for their peers). A key tension between inclusion and safety—especially in high-risk sectors like transport. But here’s the good news: these two goals can coexist. 💡 By leveraging: ✅ Adaptive technologies ✅ Tailored training ✅ Workplace accommodations ...we can create environments that are both safe and inclusive. We all suffer from stress at some point. It's natural. For drivers, the job can be stressful and lead to serious health problems. But how does stress at home affect your life on the road? Whether it's an argument or illness, a worry or a work thing, you need to recognise the signs, know how it affects your driving and understand what you can do about it. 🏡 When you shut the front door, know that nothing can be done in the here and now. Recognise it. In your mind, schedule time to deal with something. Get it sorted. Don’t let the pressure build... 🛣️ On your way to work, focus on what your eyes, ears, hands and feet are doing. It helps to reset the mind and to re-adjust your concentration. Be aware of your responsibilities. Understand the importance of clear thinking. Maintain your professional focus. ⛓️ Connect the dots. Frustration leads to anger. Anger creates distraction. Distraction means risk. Risk causes accidents. Accidents can be devastating. 🤔 Think about the impact that reckless or anger-fueled driving will have on your nearest and dearest. Consider the consequences. 🚨 Avoid a prison sentence. Always be available for your family for those times that matter the most. 🆘 Finally, and most importantly, know that thousands of drivers are suffering from mental health issues. Know that you aren’t alone. Sometimes speaking to a stranger is better than speaking to someone you know. Take care out there.
