This morning's announcement where we shared revenue growth in the second quarter of 2%, and a rise in EBITDA of 5% year on year, is a clear reflection of the strength and consistency of eir Ireland's strategy. We remain firmly committed to building Ireland’s most advanced telecommunications infrastructure, combining the nation’s largest fibre network with 99% 5G mobile coverage to deliver world-class connectivity to homes and businesses. Our fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, the largest in Ireland, is now available to over 1.4 million homes and businesses. This milestone means that approximately 3.6 million people across the country can access high-speed, full-fibre connectivity, reinforcing Ireland’s position as one of Europe’s most digitally connected nations. We have also reached 99% nationwide 5G coverage, with mobile network traffic rising 65% year-on-year. The rollout of more than 850 new mobile sites and fibre backhaul to 1,300 locations has significantly improved speed and capacity, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Building on our first-to-market launch of WiFi 7 in Q1, this quarter, we introduced 5 Gigabit (5Gbps) fibre broadband service, setting a new benchmark for speed, performance, and reliability in Irish homes and businesses. This new standard in performance and reliability comes at a pivotal moment as we accelerate the transition to full fibre, ensuring Ireland’s digital infrastructure is future ready. 🗺️Ireland’s Talent Pool is Growing – and Diversifying🌎 In recent data from CSO (Central Statistics Office Ireland), the year to April 2024, #Ireland saw 149,000 people arrive – the highest #immigration level in 16 years – while 69,000 departed, the highest since 2015. Over half of new arrivals are aged 25–44, the prime working years, bringing fresh skills and perspectives into our economy. Talent is coming from across the globe, with notable inflows from #India, #Ukraine, #Brazil, the #EU, and the #UK. Today, Ireland’s population stands at 5.45 million, with 81% #Irish nationals and an increasingly international workforce. Enterprise Ireland today launched the High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) Founder of Year Award for 2025. The overall winner will be announced at an awards ceremony which will take place on Thursday, 16 October 2025 at the Salesforce Tower in Dublin. This year, 38 High Potential Start-ups were eligible for the award, with the list now narrowed down to five finalists. Nominees include Senus, Marama Labs, Pilot Path Group, Assiduous and NeuroBell. The Founder of the Year award forms an important element of the Enterprise Ireland HPSU Founders Forum. Now in its 10th year the HPSU Founders Forum, which is delivered in partnership with Select Strategies continues to grow with over 480 founders having participated to date from a variety of sectors including digital technologies, medical devices, fintech, food, engineering and construction. The objective of the Forum is to provide a platform for founders to help founders succeed internationally and scale faster.
