  • Masters Group Project: Network Analysis Application

As part of my Masters degree, I participated in a group project with my classmates. We were given a project backlog and assigned a product owner. We self organised into a scrum master and developer roles, and worked over 3 springs with all scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and sprint retrospectives. At the end of each sprint we demo'd our increment to our product owner and members of LM Ericsson Athlone. The project leveraged REST services using JAX-RS, EJB, JPA, MySQL, Java EE, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX, Bitbucket for version control and Jenkins for continuous integration. Testing was handled using JUnit, Arquillian, Selenium, ECL Emma and Jacoco. The entire project was deployed on a Wildfly (JBoss) server.

  • Certificate in Software Engineering Team Project: Bike Rental System

As part of my work during the CSE course, I worked in an agile team project. We were assigned a product owner (a lecturerer), and we alternated scrum master each week in order for each member of the team to get experience in this role. We were self organised and allocated tasks among us, including coding, testing and UI design tasks. The project was organised into 2x1 week sprints, with scrum ceremonies such as sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews and daily stand ups.

Overall, the project was a great success. Every user story undertaken suring the two sprints met the requirements of the definition of done we had defined. The project was a great experience, and regardless of prior knowledge, every team member learned alot.

  • Investigation into the effects of weather on usage of DublinBikes, with comparison to other European cities

    -

Project ongoing as part of Data Science module. Application created using Python front and backend, SQLite database. Using Raspberry Pis running automated scripts to leverage JCDecaux Bikes) and APIXU APIs to collect live bike stand and weather data.

  • Concurrent Wator simulation using C++, SFML, OpenMP, Doxygen and LaTeX

    -

As part of college work, we were given a team project with the task of recreating the Wator simulation, which simulates a planet covered in water, home to sharks and fish, which interact with each other, eat, breed and die. The program was developed to be thread safe and concurrent, with testing carried out on a Raspberry Pi cluster, also set up by myself and Dylan during the project, allowing us to test the program on a truly distributed platform.
