Empowering Journalists for the New Digital Era! The Leadership Enablement Program for journalists, organized by the Karnataka Media Academy - Government of Karnataka in collaboration with Infosys Springboard, was held at Mysore Development Center from 27–29 October 2025. This transformative workshop brought together 50 journalists from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across Karnataka—spanning roles such as reporters, editors, copy editors, deputy editors, news editors, and creative heads—alongside members of the Karnataka Media Academy. Designed to foster digital leadership, the program focused on equipping media professionals with future-ready skills. Sessions covered topics such as artificial intelligence and generative AI, responsible AI and prompt engineering, design thinking and decision-making, and the rise of digital platforms and cybersecurity considerations. This initiative marks a pioneering step in upskilling journalists, empowering them to navigate and shape the future of media with confidence and responsibility. Thanks to Shri K. On October 15, 2025, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) hosted a landmark interaction in Hampi, Vijayanagar, Karnataka, bringing together PMIS interns and industry representatives for a unique and enriching experience. The session was graced by Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India. This first-of-its-kind engagement in South India provided a valuable platform for interns to share their learning journeys directly with the Minister and gain insights into public sector operations. Nine PMIS interns from Infosys Mangalore Development Centre were nominated by MCA for this exclusive opportunity. During the journey, Mr. Jayaprakash H K mentored the interns, while Mr. Santhosh Ananthapura, Associate Vice President and Senior Business Manager – Learning, provided final guidance on communication, body language, and soft skills. The event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Vishal R, IAS and Secretary, Finance, Government of Karnataka; Mrs. Richa Kukreja, Regional Director, Inspection & Investigation, MCA, GoI; Mr. Balamurugan D, IAS and Joint Secretary, MCA, GoI; and Mr. Anirudh Sravan Pulipaka, IAS and Personal Secretary to the Hon’ble Finance Minister, GoI. During the interaction, Ms. Lakshmi Prasanna Ravi, a PMIS intern from Infosys Mangalore DC, shared her inspiring journey, highlighting how the internship helped her build technical and professional skills through platforms like Infosys Springboard. She expressed confidence in becoming industry-ready and thanked MCA for the opportunity. In response, Mrs. Sitharaman commended Lakshmi’s clarity and articulation, particularly her thoughtful use of the term industry-ready. She acknowledged the internship’s role in enhancing personality development and skill-building, emphasizing that such initiatives align with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of equipping students with practical exposure to make them job-ready. The session concluded with a cultural tour of Hampi, adding a historical and experiential dimension to the interns’ journey and fostering peer learning across organizations.
