Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu has claimed that Zoho, along with its IT management arm ManageEngine, is the only company in the world capable of taking on Microsoft in the breadth and depth of its product suite. In a recent post, Vembu shared a visual showcasing Zoho’s product growth from 2002 to today, noting that the company now offers a vast portfolio spanning collaboration, business apps, IT management, and AI tools. “Our products offer a vastly superior experience to Microsoft, please take a good look!” he wrote. Vembu further highlighted that Zoho is doubling down on research and development across cloud infrastructure, platforms, AI, and applications, promising faster innovation ahead. Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has challenged Microsoft, saying that Zoho offers a better experience than Microsoft. This isn't an exaggeration... or even boasting. Zoho has taken its time and has created one good product after another... all of which are also of high quality. A friend asked, "Zoho has apps, but what about its data? Will it be hosted on AWS or GCP?" The answer is... no 😁 Zoho has 18 datacenters worldwide, located in different countries and geographies. All Zoho apps are hosted on their cloud. Yes, Zoho offers flexibility to its customers. One can choose to have their apps hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Some people may think that Microsoft is the king of this domain... why is Zoho challenging it? This is the way of the IT industry... a new player comes in, challenges, and takes over the market. When Microsoft was new... it also created MS-DOS... it challenged the companies making operating systems of that time. At that time, IBM's DOS was popular... Unix was also there... Macintosh was there... Apple DOS was there... but Microsoft surpassed them all. The initial Windows versions weren't very good... but they proved to be better in terms of usability... and this is why a new company, Microsoft, captured 90% of the operating systems market in just a few years. Even today, Microsoft has a monopoly in the laptop and desktop OS market. But this same Microsoft never managed to gain an edge in the mobile OS market... An unknown company created Android, which was later acquired by Google... and today Android is the biggest player in smartphone OS... whereas Windows has long disappeared from this market. Whether you're an individual or a startup... or an MNC... Zoho has solutions for all kinds of things. Zoho's Arattai Messenger is also gradually gaining popularity. Earlier there was no option... Today there is. Now there are no excuses. It's simple... make a good product... improve quality... maintain a good client relationship... provide a good customer experience... and keep challenging the kings of your domain from time to time. Time is unpredictable... when it will change. We've seen companies like Nokia and Blackberry rise to power and then fall into paupers.
