I got an opportunity to spend a day with Verne Harnish (Founder of EO and author of Scaling Up book) in Kolkata—and came back with a sharper playbook for scaling. Over 100+ business owners were in the room, and the learning was powerful. My biggest takeaways (in simple words): The 4 pillars: People, Strategy, Execution, Cash. Get these right and everything moves faster. The real job of a CEO: appoint a council, choose the right people, build right culture, manage capital wisely. Make happiness a score for Customers, Employees, and Shareholders—measure it and act quickly. Stay close to the field: talk to team and customers often; use feedback to fix things fast. Pricing is strategic—don’t race to the bottom; price for value. Build an Advisory Board to challenge your thinking and open new doors. Stories from Costco, Dell, Walmart, Apple, Facebook showed how clear strategy + strong execution wins.
