JSW Steel & POSCO is set to build a 6 MTPA steel plant in India! JSW Steel and South Korea’s POSCO Group have taken a big step for boosting their alliance by signing a Heads of Agreement (HoA) to establish a 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant in India. This follows a 2024 MoU and now it would include a feasibility study to determine the plant’s location, investment structure, and resource availability. Odisha is currently the leading choice for the plant. JSW brings scale and domestic know-how, while POSCO contributes cutting-edge steelmaking technology, creating a powerful partnership. This is aligned with India’s push for self-reliance in manufacturing and enhancing export competitiveness.
